A/N: Hello again! Thank you all so much for checking out my first story, Winter Sun. It had quite a bit of views, but only a few guest reviews, and that's about what I expected for my first installment, so keep it up! This is my companion piece to Winter Sun, another drabble based on episode 2, but from Mako's point of view. It also goes more into depth about how his view of Korra changes. Anyway, without further ado, enjoy, and please review and check out the author's note at the end. Thanks!
Disclaimer: I don't own The Legend of Korra
Pillar of Flame
He disliked her with every fiber of his being. Or at least that's what he told himself. She was full of life and confidence and was not afraid to speak her mind. She was also brazen and reckless and selfless. The moment she walked into a room, she commanded it, her personality transcending herself. He was someone who liked control, who had his life all planed out to the "t". He did not plan, however, for her. She burst into his life like a raging inferno or a pillar of fire, disrupting and disturbing everything that he had oh so carefully put into place, and shattered it all. She was unpredictable. She was an unknown variable. She often went against the flow, unlike the water that she bended. And that was what got under his skin the most. He could feel his tight control slipping, and that scared him and excited him at the same time. Yet he felt an unexplained magnetism towards her. Like an invisible thread was connecting him to her. He could feel her beginning to worm her way into every aspect of his life, wiggling into even the smallest cracks. And he somehow knew that she would not stop until she consumed him. And maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

A/N: I know it's a little rough, so please excuse any spelling/grammatical errors, but I would appreciate to know what you thought of it, so REVIEW! On a side note, my name was previously J.A. Elder, but I wanted to change it to something more creative, so Ocean's Timbre was born. Anyway, should I write another companion piece on Bolin's first encounter with Korra? Let me know your thoughts. Reviews are love. Thanks!
