This was a request from one of my other stories ('Immortal') that they wanted to see a closer angle of the 'breakup'.
Disclaimer: This story has been disclaimed.
It had been a long time coming. After all, they had been moving around for over a hundred years; something was bound to happen, like bad karma bottled up then suddenly realised in a wave of shattering glass and crimson blood.
And up until now, no one had made comment or complained about the constant aliases, or all the new houses.
Until now...Nudge gad made friends. Friends she grew attached to and didn't want to leave no matter the consequences; she was positive they would understand their situation and help. the instant she told her leader, the blonde began planning on moving. One little complaint ended in an explosive argument.
"You can't get attached, Nudge! You can't trust anyone but your family! We're your family!"
Nudge scowled darkly. "You're no family of mine." She turned, missing the shattered, betrayed look that clawed at Max's time untouched face, and stormed out the door.
The next day, she packed and left while everyone else was at school, convinced she didn't her so-called 'family'.
Angel was the only one she kept contact with, and even that was fleeting.
That was the beginning, Nudge acted as a catalyst that slowly caused the whole flock to drift apart, all fighting and bitter about their fate.
I keep doing really short snippets! I swear I'll have a long one up soon!
