A Merger by HPFangirl71

This meeting with the great Harry Potter had Scorpius Malfoy's nerves in a jumble. It had taken all his courage to get to this moment and he refused to think of what would happen should he fail. Trying to convince Harry that a Malfoy/Potter merger was in all their best interests was no small task. He approached the dark haired man with slight apprehension and loads of nervous trepidation.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, sir."

"It sounded urgent, but I will admit that I almost refused you. You see as Prime Minister I have many people who make demands for my time. I only granted you this timeslot because my daughter Lily asked me to."

"Yes, well I deem your approval of the matter as vital. In fact I came to you even before my own father."

"Probably a wise decision since I have a feeling how your father will feel about such a merger."

"My father is going to have to get over it. He needs to embrace change not fight it."

"I understand how you feel Scorpius, but you have to realize that there are many furies and sorrows buried within our families' pasts. I have to feel that I agree wholeheartedly with your father for once."

"Well I'm certain the wizarding world was sure they'd never hear that statement."

"Yes, well… I'm certain this won't work. There's too much bad blood between our families. Too many lives have been ruined by this feud."

"Which is exactly why it needs to end here. Perhaps Lily and I are the key to making peace between our two families."

Harry looked at the boy before him, who looked so much like his father in looks. Yet the words that came from his lips would never have come from Draco's. Perhaps the son of an old enemy could prove to be a worthy adversary. He stepped forward and reached his hand out to the blonde boy who would soon be merged within his family.

"Very well… you and Lily have my blessings. Knowing my daughter, being as headstrong as her mother, she'd just run off and elope with you anyways."

Scorpius gave a shy grin and replied.

"That's exactly what she wanted to do but I thought a more direct approach for our merger was in order and I'm determined that your faith in me will not be ill placed sir."

With that the two men shook hands. One older and battle scarred, the other young and optimistic of the bright future ahead.
