Each story seemed to hold the same theme. Whether it was fiction, non-fiction, or humor or tradgdy. There always seems to be conflict. And with conflict, there was always the antagonist. More than often, this character is the bad guy, the evil monster, the one everyone hates. But, the definition of antagonist says otherwise. "Someone who opposes or is hostile to someone or something." That must sound bad. That must make it seem like if your the enemy in a story, you must be a bad guy. So, you must have had to do something wrong to be called the bad guy. Right?

This was what Arthur thought to himself as he looked outside the window. Where the sun was shining down brightly on a happy couple. The younger of the two was giggling joyfully, arms wrapped around his boyfriend's neck and violet eyes full of youth. The older was holding the other close as well, wavy blond hair glimmering as the sun's ray's hit it and ocean blue eyes staring back with something Arthur had never seen in them before. 'Love.' he idenified it bitterly.

He remembered how those eyes had been burning with hatred. He remembered how that young boy had looked at him like he was a monster. And as he thought this, he took no notice of the tears running down his cheeks, and he ignored how much his heart hurt. Instead, he tried to come up with a reason for why he was the bad guy. Why he was the evil one. Why, when the person he loved with all his heart left him for a younger and better lover, he was the one that everyone hated. He tried to think of how it was before all of this, when he had been happy, but then he remembered how Francis had never been as happy with him as he was with Matthew, and it made him want to scream and cry and die...

'Life is a story,' he told himself. 'and this is a happy ending.'

AN: Ah, this is something i have always thought about...In those stories where there is a couple but they break up because one of them falls in love with someone younger, have you noticed how they focus on the younger one and how their love intrest's partner was bad or mean? I have, and it just makes you think, "What about them?" How did they feel about their love leaving them for someone better? Just a thought, and this short thing was made. To anyone who has been hoping for another chapter of my other stories, it's gonna be a while. My best friend and I aren't on good terms so i can't write anything happy, sorry...
