Seth did his best to keep his breath and emotions level. He didn't want Jasper to know he was awake just yet. They lay in the California king that dominated the hotel room, Seth was on top of Jasper, the only thing separating them were their sleep pants… and this aching feeling of nothingness.
It was so strange, it had only been a few months since they had last seen each other but now there was this great distance between them. Seth stretched his fingers out slowly, running them over the cold skin where they had been. Jasper was right here…but at the same time he wasn't.
Cold fingers came up and ran along his spine causing Seth to shiver and raise his head. He met Jasper's gold eyes but turned his head away before those soft lips could meet his own. "Seth…"
Shaking his head Seth sat up and moved to the end of the bed, pulling his t-shirt back on. He didn't know what had put this distance between them, all he knew was that it hurt and he didn't think talking about it would be the quick fix.
Jasper stayed on the large bed as Seth left the room feeling the distance that had grown and was growing even more with every step Seth took away from him. What had changed?
