Harley and Ivy

A/N: I in no way own the characters of DC comics. I wish to heaven that I did, but sadly I do not. Enjoy.

It was another regular day. Well, as regular as you can get with two femme fatales living in a house in a toxic waste dump.

Harley has just recently been kicked out of the Joker's place. Again. But luckily for her, Poison Ivy welcomed her with open arms. Again.

Ivy always welcomed Harley, and she always told her not to go back to the Joker. But Harley would just never learn. Every time, Ivy slips her subtle hints that she belongs with her and not the Joker, because Ivy loved Harley and she was confident she felt the same way.

"Hey, Harl. I didn't expect you to be up so early." Ivy says to her blonde friend, who had just gotten up from the one bed in the house.

"Yeah, well. I just couldn't sleep."

Ivy frowned.

"Was it another nightmare?"

Harley almost had tears in her eyes. She merely nodded. Ivy stood up and held her arms out.

"Come here."

Harley didn't even hesitate. She practically flung herself into Ivy's arms. Ever since she had been kicked out of the Joker's, she had been having nightmares about him. Every time she wakes up right before the Joker kills her.

Harley was crying now. Ivy could feel her tears landing on her shoulders.

Ivy lifts up her head so that she is facing Harley. She looks down.

"Harley, look at me. Please."

Harley looks up.

"Forget the Joker. You don't need him, baby. He doesn't love you like I do."

Harley smiles.

"Thanks, red."

"Why don't we go out tonight? Just the two of us."

"Okay. Where?"

"How about the Iceberg Lounge? The Joker isn't allowed there, remember?"

"Yeah. Last time he was he killed a waiter because his steak was cold and he blamed Penguin for not working his staff too hard."

Ivy didn't know how to respond to that.

Within thirty minutes both of them looked beautiful. Ivy drove Harley all the way, several times looking at Harley, hoping to see her smile, but she never did.

When they arrived, Ivy hurried to get to the other side of the car so she could open Harley's door for her.

They put their arms around each other's waists and walks towards the lounge. Little did they know a certain Caped Crusader and his young Boy Wonder watched them walk inside.

As they walked up to the hostess Ivy requested a table for two. The Penguin saw Harley and waddled over angrily. Both of them chuckled at the way he walks.

"Hey! You're banned! Remember!"

"But, Pengy! You banned Mista- I mean the Joker. I don't roll with him anymore."

Ivy had been trying to get Harley not to call him Mista J anymore.

"Fine. But I'll be watching you."

"I promise I'll be on my best behavior."

Both Ivy and Penguin could hear the sarcasm in her voice, but Ivy knew she was sincere.

They were seated at a table that let them see a great view of the dancers and the seals in the giant pool.

As Ivy looked around she saw other villains like Two-Face, Bane, and the Riddler. For some reason, she felt a little nervous around them.

Harley looked at the menu, still looking sad.

"Oh, baby, cheer up. Please. Forget about the Joker."

"I can't, red. No matter how hard I try I just can't. He'll always find a way back into my life."

Ivy slammed her fist onto the table.

"God dammit, Harley! You're worth more than ten of him! You don't need him! He doesn't need you either. But I do. Harley, I need you in my life. Forget about the Joker and be with me. He can't hurt you if you're with me."

Harley was feeling mixed emotions of shock, love, and agreement. She slowly nods her head and says "I don't know, Red. I need to think about it."

Ivy puts her hand on top of Harley's and she holds it like her life depends on it.

"Okay, Harl. Okay."
