A/N: So it's my birthday today! So, i come baring gifts... and i wrote this a little while ago. it's basically my distorted way of explaining to myself why they can't even give Samcedes a simple mention on Glee. it's short, straight to the point, One Shot. Read and Review please?
She told him to. That summer before she was off to greater adventures in LA. She said "I think it would be best if you just... Forget me." The harshness of her words still stung him when the memory threatened to come out to play. Sam knew he could never truly forget her- no matter how badly she wanted him too. He'd always remember her smile, her laugh, her scent... Her everything. She wasn't just a lover or just a friend to him. She was light, in the dim tunnel that was his existence when he was homeless. She was air, when she agreed to be his again after he fought so hard to rekindle their love. She was fire, whenever they kissed or touched or hugged. They way their bodies fit so perfectly with each other, melted into each other, forming a union of powerful lust, and love. But most importantly she was wind, the night she left for LA. She had stopped talking to him after she broke it off. He didn't even get to say goodbye.
Forget me. The words played in his mind once more. Forget me. Forget me. Why? He kept asking his conscience. It just continued to repeat the same thing over and over: Forget me.
So he tried. For her he tried. It's what she wanted right? So that's what he tried to do. He became vice president, joined a couple of clubs, befriended Brittany, Marley, Blaine. Filled his life with little nothings just so he could forget her. Or at least try to.
But, when she came back- everything changed. Why did she have to come back? What did she want? Of course the answer was nothing. At least nothing from him. Her selflessness was always a quality he always admired the most about her. She never lost herself- not through four years of highschool and most certainly not now. But for Sam- her being back was a dent in his plans. A brick wall in his future.
Forget me. It said again. But why? Still no answer.
Life was swimming a long fine... He even had a new crush, Brittany. But the moment she came back- his want for Brittany dissipated and his need for Mercedes grew tenfold. She was earth, the ground he needed to stand on- the concrete life source he needed to survive. She was his queen- fuck the pedestal because she didn't need one. She put herself on one. He didn't kneel before her- he stood beside her. Their love was equal. It was patient, it was easy.
Forget me.
....But.. I love you. Sam said to himself.
Damn her for ruining his plans. Damn her for being everything he needed and wanted. Damn her for being the love of his life.
Forget me. He couldn't. Not anymore. She doesn't get to walk away from his life a second time. No- this woman was his. He fought for her. He loved her first, and he would love her last.
Sam gathered his books and closed his locker. His heart beating faster as he walked towards her.
Forget me.
Forget me.
Forget me. NO! Not anymore- never again.
"Sam.." her beautiful face spread into a wide smile as she said his name. Sam cursed under his breath as he looked upon her. Still so graceful, still so beautiful, still. So... So...
"Sam?" she said once more, wondering what was wrong with her ex boyfriend. He was just standing there not saying a thing and it was freaking her out a little.
"I can't." Sam said looking down at his chucks, not meeting her eyes.
"You can't what?" Mercedes asked softly, lifting his chin up so he was looking into her eyes.
"Forget you, Mercedes... I can't."
a/n: Did you like it? Yay or Nay? tell me what you think. Peace, Love, and my future baby daddy Jacob Artist to you all. - Melle.
