A/N This is a different style from most – it's a memo sent from Dept. Dir. Cullen to his 'superior' (took artistic licence on this!). I imagined that after events in Judas on a Pole and The Man in the Cell, the FBI would have to 'investigate' Booth and Brennan's partnership due to the personal nature of the investigations, just to make sure everything was working according to protocol etc. I could see Cullen being hauled up to give his opinion.

I understand if people don't like this, it's certainly not fluff. I just needed a break from endless clichés… (please don't hate me!)

FBI Memo

Confidential

Director Anderson,

As you requested, here is a summary of my understanding of the current operation and effectiveness of FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth and his partner, non-FBI Forensic Anthropologist Dr Temperence Brennan of the Jeffersonian Institution.

Agent Booth and Dr Brennan have worked together for just over two years. Their partnership, although unusual in the FBI, has proved extremely successful in the investigation and conviction in homicide cases under the FBI's jurisdiction.

Agent Booth has developed his strengths in liaison by working with Dr Brennan's team at the Jeffersonian Medico-Legal Lab. He is committed to the cases that he is assigned to, so much so that he can often be found in his office well after 7:00pm.

Dr Brennan has skills unmatched by any in her field, and she has proved her abilities in not only discovering the true fact behind the evidence, but also working with Agent Booth in a manner that the FBI deems extremely efficient.

Although their partnership at first seemed very unmatched, a case of head versus heart, I believe that their best traits have 'rubbed off' on each other.

Their successful convictions are numbered amongst the highest in any FBI partnerships. Their commitment in the Epps case, in my opinion, was unmatched. The skills of Dr Brennan's team combined with Agent Booth's extensive profiling abilities enabled a serial killer to be stopped, despite his death before prosecution. Without them he would still be a threat to our society.

I cannot report of any undue concern in the apparent relationship between Agent Booth and Dr Brennan. Although Agent Booth has not approached me on the subject, I can see that if a 'relationship' were to develop, it would only strengthen their bond. As Dr Brennan is not FBI, their 'relationship' would be permitted under FBI regulations.

Taking into account the points that I have mentioned above, I can only advise that this particular partnership is one of the best I have seen and should be allowed to continue for as long as either party feels fit.
