Once upon a Christmas morning, very early, without warning,
Bella startled Seth and Paris as they headed out the door.
Just inside the tree was glowing. "Where the heck are you two going?"
But they hurried, never slowing, lugging Christmas gifts galore.
Edward hollered "Wait up,Paris! Some have fallen on the floor!"
But they wouldn't wait for more.
Sue and Leah threw their robes on, ran downstairs to find the kids gone,
Looked outside and saw, on their lawn, Embry, Sam, and Jasmine too.
"Come on in!" they said together; "get in out of this cold weather!"
Sam said "I just don't know whether Quil and Claire will still get through.
They are driving through a snowstorm, trying hard to get to you."
Jacob said "Don't worry, Sue."
Avea, Gavin, Sean, and Mary entered Sue's house slightly wary.
They found shifters somewhat scary, but the house was warm and bright.
Ben and Shaeli warmly greeted, Sam made certain they were seated,
With respect they all were treated. Sue embraced them with delight.
Alice and Jasper wondered briefly "How many vampires did they invite?"
Just one human was in sight.
Ted and Lana came in singing, just as Derek's phone was ringing.
And the presents they were bringing joined the pile beneath the tree.
"That was Izzie!" Derek stated. "She and Will should not have waited;
By the timeline she related, they'll be here ahead of Bree.
Logan, Bree and Val and Carter were stopping on the way to ski,
That's what Izzie said to me."
Sue announced that brunch was ready, Olivia stood and looked at Eddie.
On the vamp her gaze held steady, but he didn't move to eat.
Rebecca hurried in with Paul, they hung their coats up in the hall.
The vampires didn't move at all as wolves and humans took a seat.
Carmen, Laurence, and Veronica brought some eggnog for a treat.
Still the group was incomplete.
Sue and Leah served the dishes; all agreed it was delicious.
Olivia remained suspicious but found a seat right next to Matt.
Suddenly the door flung wide as Seth and Paris stepped inside,
Quil and Claire were by their side as Seth shook snowflakes from his hat.
"Good thing Seth came by," said Quil, "and picked us up – our tire's flat!"
Sue raised her glass. "I'll drink to that!"
