Odin Lowe stared at her and then began speaking in a slow and clear tone,
" Do…you…speak…basic?" /She might be his granddaughter, oh well; I can't let her in until she gives me the password. /

" I need to speak de basic?" her voice was heavily accented, but even though she sounded confused her eyes showed her comprehension.

The young boy nodded, but as he did a small explosion came from an open doorway.
A girl who the boy took to be fifteen flew into the corridor and sprinted to Dr. Jay.

Suddenly, she leapt away with a frightened look on her face.
