Rubeus Hagrid and the Deathly Hallows
Rubeus Hagrid wearily made his way back to what remained of his cabin. Silent tears already coursing down through his wild, slightly singed, beard. He could rebuild, he knew, but the loss of so many loved ones, not to mention fang, weighed down heavily on his huge shoulders.
He pulled out his pink umbrella and started clearing up. 'Reparo' He mumbled as he waved the umbrella at the remains of his oversized bed. He lumbered over towards the bed and sat down heavily, making the bed creak ominously.
He'd been aware of death ever since his second year when his father had died, but he'd never really got used to it.
"No! I mus' focus on the future, on who's still alive," Hagrid muttered to himself. "Those ruddy death eaters even let loose all them niflers I 'ad fer the firs' years," he groaned looking at the smashed cages. He stood up calling "Accio niflers" and waving his umbrella again. Several small furry objects came flying out of the forest as Hagrid quickly conjured new cages for them.
"Alri' you lot, settle down," Hagrid said as he peered at them for any signs of injury. "Hey girl, you find summat?" he asked one of the niflers busily trying to bury something that lay glittering in the hay. Hagrid reached out with surprising speed and managed to grab the object, narrowly avoiding the nifler's sharp jaws as it jumped up to meet his hand.
He looked at the object held in his hand, it was a large gold ring with a cracked black stone set into it. Hagrid supposed lots of people must have lost things in the forest over the years and it wasn't as though the ring would fit him anyway. So he dropped the ring into one of his many pockets and set off to find Grawp. Leaving the still jumping nifler, which was now making an angry, growling noise.
