In the early morning of March 14th while very many were barely arising from their slumber one girl, Hoshimi Hazuki of New Bark Town in her second-floor bedroom was awake eager for the day to start. It was her 10th birthday when most children started their Pokemon journey. Even though today was the day she would obtain her first Pokemon, Hoshimi being the procrastinator she was still hadn't decided.

"OOOOOH!!!" she exclaimed, "I don't know which to chose! Cyndaquil has the advantage over most of the gyms, but Totodile is really good offensive and defensive Pokemon. Also Chikorita is just soooo cute!"

I wonder if…if me being unable to make a decision is an omen I shouldn't be a Pokemon trainer after all.

"No! No! I can't think like that! I have to be positive and straight forward, no more doubtfulness for me!"

"Hoshimi! Keep it down!" her mom yelled from the bottom floor.

"Sorry Mom! Ok now just choose Hoshimi…water, fire or grass. Oh I just can't decide you know what I'll just figure it out when I get there!" With that decided she got ready for the day she put on her usual outfit that consisted of a pink shirt with a mid-length sleeve under a blue jumper with white knee socks her pink running shoes and lastly her white hat with a pink bow. As she headed downstairs her mother approached her.

"Hoshimi, your Pokenav is back from the repair shop and they even fixed it up with a phone, radio, map and lots of other things! Isn't that neat!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah Mom sure, but I really got to get going I don't want to be late for getting my Pokemon bye!" then Hoshimi ran off to Professor Elm's. As she arrived she saw a redheaded boy about her age looking inside the lab through a window and decided to greet him. "Hello!" she said startling the boy "I'm Hoshimi did you come to get a Pokemon from Professor Elm?" she asked him.

The boy turned to face her, "That's none of your business, get lost." and turned back to the window.

"Hey! I was trying to be nice! What's with the attitude?" Hoshimi told him angrily while advancing on him.

"I said get lost!" the boy pushed her to the ground and resumed looking through the window.

That was so rude! What a jerk! Well never mind him I got to get my Pokemon!

"Professor Elm! Professor Elm? I came to get a Pokemon!" Hoshimi called out.

"Hoshimi? Is that you? Oh it is! Welcome, Welcome so you're here to get a Pokemon? Well I have 3 right over here so which will it be Totodile, Chikorita or Cyndaquil?" The balding professor asked her releasing the Pokemon one by one to show her.

"Umm…well maybe Totodile?" she went to pet the water-type Pokemon and it bit her hand "Ow ow ow!!! Ok no Totodile…how about Chikorita?"

"You might want to be careful. That Chikorita has a temper," The Professor warned.

"Really, but it's so cute I think…ouch!" her words were cut off as she was hit by vines while trying to pet the Chikorita. "Looks like you were right" she then froze up in terror as the Cyndaquil approached her.

What is it gonna do? Blast me with Flamethrower that would really hurt!

But all the Cyndaquil did was rub up against her leg, "Hey! It didn't hurt me! Well then I guess that settles it. I choose Cyndaquil!" Hoshimi exclaimed.

"Well I should tell you it has a name the people who gave me this Pokemon said its name was Kira." Professor explained to Hoshimi.

"Kira? I like that name. Okay then I should get going to Violet City! Bye Professor Elm and thanks!!!" With that Hoshimi was off to start her journey.
