Thorn swung her feet back and forth on the cliffs edge. It was around 6:30 p.m. and she was watching the sun set. She liked coming here to watch all the pinks, orange, yellows and reds mix together. It was somehow calming to her. A strand of her brown hair danced across her face. Thorn slowly lifted her hand and brushed the piece behind her ear. Thorn sighed as she thought about him.

The boy with the messy brown hair and eyes that looked like they were on fire. She remembered him coming into her house. Talking with him, kissing him, and slightly nipping his lower lip to taste him. At this thought Thorn lightly brushed her tongue against one of her pointed teeth. His blood had been the sweetest thing she ever tasted. So why, she wondered.

Why did I let him go? He was the same as another human. A traveler would come to the road by her house. They would come across some monsters. The so called monsters would chase them. They would come across her house for safety. Shortly after being in Thorns house she would drug them. Then she would drink till there was not blood left. That was how it worked. Traveler gets scared, traveler goes to Thorns house, Thorn drinks travelers blood. She was a vampire, that's how it worked. But when he appeared at her door she couldn't do it. She couldn't do with him just as she did with the others. She let him go.

"But why!" she asked herself. He is only a human. Just flesh and blood. Just another meal. But Thorn knew better. He was more then that. But she couldn't figure our just what. Thorn shook her head and lied down on her back. The sky started to grow darker. What does it matter, she thought. I'll never see him again. She let our a small sigh and sat up. A smile cracked on her lips. But I will never forget that small taste of his blood.
