Life is Certainly Full of Suprises, Isn't it?
Prolouge
Clarice Snape wasn't by any means stupid. In fact, she fancied herself to be quite smart. Of course, Clarice thought, remembering something her mother had once told her. Just because you were smart didn't mean you couldn't make foolish mistakes. Her mother had never been more right in her entire life. Even though Clarice was smart, she had made the most foolish mistake in her twenty years of life.
She had trusted Sirius Black.
Now she was staring at the umistakable proof of her foolishness in her hands. Clarice desperately gritted her teeth in an effort to hold in the sob that was currently crawling up her throat. She hadn't cried since she was five, not even at her mothers funeral. Clarice would be damned if she let Sirius Black be the cause of her tears.
A sharp knock on the bathroom door interupted her train of thoughts.
"Clarice, are you all right?" her brother's worried voice piped up from the other side of the door.
"Just wait a minute Severus," Clarice replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She knew she would eventually have to tell her brother, and Clarice also knew that the sooner it was done the better it would be for everyone.
Ignoring the pit in her stomach, she slowly opened the bathroom door.
Now her brother, Severus Snape, was considered one of the hardest people to read, but to his sister he let his concern show clearly upon his face.
For a moment it was quiet between them as her brother silently took in her grave exspression.
"Are you alright Clarice?" Severus quietly repeated.
Clarice took a deep breath, looked her brother in the eye, and uttered two life changing words.
"I'm pregnant."
AN: Here's the prolouge to my latest creation. Please review and tell me if I should continue. By the way, this story isn't about Clarice, it's about her daughter who is one year younger than Harry. I don't own anything except my OC's.
