DOCTOR WHO
ANGELS OF STONE
Sam had just finished locking his shop up for the night. He placed the keys in his pocket and walked. He turned the corner at the end of the street and headed towards the small parking lot he had parked his car in. For some reason, many of the street lamps had stopped working. Luckily, Sam carried a small torch in his pocket – he had to go down an alley to get to the car park and he didn't want to walk it in pitch black.
He turned into the alley, flicking the torch on as he walked. It didn't do much. All he could see was the ground in front of his feet. Beyond that; blackness. It closed in around him. A noise sounded to Sams left. Quick as he could, he shone the torch on the spot. A bin had blown over… or so he thought. He carried on walking, shining the light in front of him again. He had barley gone 10 steps when he stopped, unable to move. A stone statue had appeared in front of him. It hadn't been there yesterday. Sam stood, his eyes wide and starting to water. He blinked. When his eyes opened again, the statue was closer! Or was he imagining it? A trick of the light, maybe? The statue was standing in an attack type position. Its arms raised, the fingers clawed. Sam edged around it, and decided he would take a closer look in the morning, when there was a better light. Before he knew it, a hand rested on his shoulder, and everything seemed to melt away. He became unconscious and awoke in a muddy field containing a number of cows.
A farmer stood close by, sat on an upturned bucket reading a newspaper.
'Hello…?' Sam began, walking towards the farmer.
'Hello there. What can I help you with? Come to buy one of me cows have ya?' replied the farmer.
'Uh, no,' Sam said slowly. How had he gotten… wherever he was? 'I'm just wondering if you can tell me where I am.'
'You're on the outskirts of Blackburn, mate.' Sam eyed the newspaper in the farmers hands. The headline read: Storm shakes the UK! He noticed something else too, in the top left corner. The date was printed. It couldn't be though… it was 2009. Yet there it was, the date. 17th October, 1879.
It wasn't possible!
Chapter 1
The TARDIS materialised on street full of houses. One end of the street curved and ran out of site. The other was a dead end. A shop sat in between the last two houses. The door of the TARDIS opened slowly, and out stepped a man, dressed in a tweed jacket and bow tie. His hair in a quiff, going from left to right. Behind him came a redheaded women. Her clothes consisted of a simple red t-shirt, a brown leather jacket and a mini skirt, but no tights.
'So, Doctor. Where are we this time?' She asked, addressing the man.
'Plymouth, January 24th. A Saturday, I believe. I like Saturdays,' replied the Doctor, 'Oh, Amy. Do you mind going back in and getting my Sonic out of my other jacket?' Amy stepped back into the TARDIS and emerged a minute later carrying a metal device.
She handed it to the Doctor, 'Thanks,' he said to her, a smile appearing on his face.
'Why have we come here, then?' Amy asked him.
'Well… Plymouth isn't the nicest place to visit, but they do have the Theatre Royal, we could go and see the Pantomime, it's still on for a couple weeks,' replied the Doctor. He looked around the street, trying to work out what area they were in. There weren't many cars, and only a few of the bins sat outside waiting to be emptied. Clearly not many people lived here.
'Why don't we check out the shop and ask them where we are?' Amy suggested. They walked down the street towards the shop at the end.
*More coming in the next few days!*
