An Honor to Serve

"The first time I ever met him," Sam began suddenly, startling the rest of the small gathering, "he came over for a barbeque my dad was hosting. I remember how he treated me like I was one of his own."

Daniel nodded. "I always loved it when he called me 'son'."

"My feet aren't even close to being big enough to fill his shoes," agreed Jack. "He was a good friend."

"Friend, father, and grandfather," added Teal'c, "and one of the best men I have ever known."

"General Hammond," Jack finished, swallowing hard. "It was an honor serving with you."
