Hello everyone! ^^ I'm baaaack!
As you can probably see, this is my first Gorillaz fanfic (I've only started going crazy for them a few weeks ago, and have looked up heaps about them) and since I'm horribly overdue for an update, I've decided to write a story providing a theory of how Noodle got back her memories of her previous life as a super soldier in Japan. It takes place before the hiatus in 2003, and progresses from there. I try to make it follow the canon storyline as much as possible, but if there's any aspect of the plot I have misplaced, then sincere apologies.
This story has OCs, please treat them well! :)
Thank you so much, and enjoy the story!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the Gorillaz (they belong to Damon Albarn and Kamie Hewlett), and I do not own any of their music, canon biographies and anything else that they have done! This story follows the canon storyline, which does not belong to me! I only own the theory of Noodle's time in Japan!

Prologue: The Chaos Before the Storm
Dark.
"And now, the moment you've ALLLLLL been waiting for…"
Can't see.
"The band that EVERYONE'S been talking about…"
Sounds.
"Let's give a warm welcome…"
Screams.
"…to the sensational…"
Numb.
"…astronomical…"
Explosions.
"…and positively dynamic…"
Help…
"…GORILLAZ!"
The crowd went wild as the dark chuckle of bass-playing band leader Murdoc Niccals echoed through the spacious stadium, signalling the beginning of their first hit single, 'Clint Eastwood'. Following him was New York drummer Russel, the signature five cymbal crashes kick-starting the instrumental to the song, and the "ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh" of lead singer 2D's angelic voice causing many female admirers watching to swoon. Lastly, Noodle, the 13-year-old Japanese guitarist, strummed at her much-envied Les Paul while bobbing her helmet-clad head up and down to the beat. It was just as they rehearsed, as they repeated in many other stadiums around the world. The perfect intro to the perfect tour. Absolutely beautiful.
As the band moved on to their next song, '5/4', Noodle cued the rest of the band in with her powerful guitar solo, causing a second wave of approving yells from the feverish crowd. To many of the audience, with her wide smile and eyes closed in the passion of the song, she would have been the happiest little pre-teenager in England, blissfully basking in her superstardom alongside her 'brothers' while doing the thing that she loved most: making music. No one would even suspect any trace of melancholy and anxiety clawing at the black-haired cutie's heart as she enthusiastically pulled out every riff she knew by memory, filling out every spare moment of each composition with a show of the immense talent that she was renowned for, each time earning rapturous cheer from the thousands marvelling from the moshpit. Yes, she was the golden girl of the new century, a rising star of genuine ability with a positive attitude to boot.
If only they knew of her other talent for acting.
