For prompt 71 "..when in Rome" for TMNT_Tuesdays LJ community: .com/tmnt_tuesdays/

This community officially catapulted me back into writing! :)

It was just another day in Paradise.

Paradise Street was the name, and it certainly didn't look like Raphael's idea of a heavenly abode. In fact, it was extremely far from it with the dirt road and hills for miles. Was there anybody out there?

"Stop your daydreaming and help," Don snapped and promptly brought Raphael back to the nightmare. Oh yeah, Raphael thought, how could I forget about our truck crapping out on the side of the road?

Getting ready to push the clunker forward, Raphael quipped, "Remind me to break Casey's face when we get home."

"It's not his fault that you drove all the way out here. The gas needle doesn't run like a Windows rubber minute." Don was never really this snappy, but Raphael kinda liked it. It was something new. Like all of this mess.

"I have no freaking clue what you meant so the joke isn't funny, Don," sneered Raph, "and shut your piehole and help."

With a few good pushes and grunts, the truck was settled onto the side of the road (and almost into the ditch by a heavy-handed Raphael), and the boys found themselves unbelievably stranded.

Donatello looked across the landscape. "I see a house over there, but I'm sure the occupants wouldn't want a giant turtle to use their phone."

"You're right. You are quite ugly, " Raphael chuckled as he grabbed garments out of the truck.

"Are you going to wear that?" Don's eyes stayed glued on the tattered clothing.

"No choice!" It took only seconds for Raphael to dress himself in a pair of over-alls, a jacket, and straw hat. "I'm dashing?"

Don's response was a mere scoff before starting off down the path. "This day is glorious. I can't wait to blog about it."

"So you should hide and I'll use their phone... if they have one and all." Raphael sprinted behind a very speedy Don.

"No, YOU'LL hide, and I'll use the phone."

"Do you think they'll let me use their bathroom? I've had to go since we left the farmhouse.."

"Just mind your manners like putting the lid back down and not making a mess, Scarecrow." Don was making good on his distance from the horrid sight.

"Yeah, yeah, 'when in rome' and all that shit. And slow down! Ain't no yellow brick road and midgets here."

The distance never grew shorter.
