When darkness comes, Henry looks for a hiding place. But there's nowhere to hide from the inevitable.

Feeling

In his dreams, he's falling towards a vast black nothingness, and the feeling scares him. The feeling doesn't bother him much in the day. When the Korean sun is shining above him, he feels he can take anything they throw at him. By evening, when the light begins to fade, the feeling creeps in. So he drowns it in his scotch bottle until he can barely see. And then, when the night is finally upon him, and the camp lies silent and he cannot escape sleep, Henry gives in. He's not scared to die; he just doesn't like the feeling.
