Set in the middle of S3- Aang's POV
Dedicated to Vera for being such a wonderful friend; thank you for listening. :)
I couldn't stop staring. They were so beautiful. The cerulean color of your eyes amazed me to the point where I would dream about them almost every night. The way they looked at me when I was practicing waterbending with you, and would splash you, turning the session into a playful fight. The way they lit up with humor whenever Momo would curl up on top of my bald head. Whenever said eyes were directed on me, my insides would melt, with the intensity they held.
You never got caught starting at me, always seeming to glance away right when Sokka would look at you. So why did you choose to get caught this time? Did you want me to know why you always stared into my eyes?
"Why are you staring at Aang?" Sokka's tone filled with malice toward her obvious affection for me. I glanced at Sokka to see him looking down his sister's former gaze into my eyes. "Whats so frickin' fascinating about Aang's eyes?" I saw Katara lower her face slightly trying to hide the faint pink on her cheeks, as she struggled to answer the question. I guess you decided to just answer truthfully, cause you suddenly blurted out, "They fascinate me."
Sokka stared at you, trying to decide if you were just mocking me or him... or both of us. Your own eyes filled with honesty. "And...?" Sokka still probing you for answers, asking questions I was too scared to ask myself. "And... I see kindness." Sokka looked into my eyes searching for this kindness you speak of, he seemed to be lost, for he looked back at you, giving you his trademark expression. "Well, what the hell is that supposed to mean? They're just gray!" You just rolled your eyes, and walked over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder, "They aren't just gray, no eye is just a color. They show emotions, and who the person really is."
Sokka, by now fed up with your wordage, just walked away; an annoyed look on his face. You continued to look into my eyes, mesmerized by all the emotions running through. "Are my eyes really that special?" You nodded ever so slightly, not willing to let yourself blink, concentrating on something deep within my pupils.
I blushed slightly, which you ignored rather well, still staring at my light irises. I inched closer to you, breathing in your scent, placing my hands on your waist to pull you into me. You quickly helped by wrapping your arms around my neck, pressing your body dangerously close to mine. I leaned forward, breaking the connection between our eyes, pressing my cheek against yours, whispering in your ear, "I love your eyes. They're filled with so many amazing things. But thing they hold just for me, is love." And with that, I kissed you passionately under the twinkling stars of the night sky, each star a symbol of the love I felt for you.
All I could think of is, I sure wish there were more stars.
The ending sucks, I know, I wasn't sure how to word it... but its basically saying, if each star was a little symbol of their love then there aren't enough stars... y'know cause their love is so great... yeah =/
