Merry Christmas Dream Like State : )
Ice-Skating.
It was Christmas Eve and one stubborn 19 year old was attempting to make her equally stubborn boyfriend go ice-skating.
"So, let me get this straight, just to make sure I'm hearing you correctly. You want me," he motioned to himself, "To go with you on ice wearing 'skates'?"
"Yes Draco."
"Why the heck would I do that Granger? It sounds ludicrous"
"I thought you'd do it for me Draco," Hermione responded quietly.
"I just don't understand why you would want to do that."
"It's silly, I know, and my reason is equally silly but please just humour me Draco."
"Why?"
"It's important to me."
"But why?"
"I use to do it with my parents every year," Hermione responded, looking at her feet.
Suddenly, everything in Draco's head clicked.
"You want to carry on the tradition then Hermione?"
"Something like that, but I can just go on my own, it's fine Draco."
"No, no Hermione. I'll come, just give me a second to get changed.
Only hour later Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy were found ice-skating hand in hand. Draco had fallen over quite a few times, he was much more graceful in the sky then on the ice. However, he had finally gotten the hang of it and was rather enjoying it when the owner said over the speakers: "We will be closing the rink in 10 minutes, please return all skates."
"Come along then Draco," Hermione said as Draco just stood there.
"But, but.."
"But what?"
"I don't want to go. I want to stay."
"So much for this being ludicrous."
"That was before I'd tried it love. Reckon I can bribe the owner?"
"No, I don't think you can. It's Christmas eve, she probably has kids to pretend to be Santa for."
"Santa?"
"I'll explain if you get off the ice and hand back your skates."
Draco sighed but willingly agreed and so on the small walk home Hermione told him all about the jolly man in a red suit. She went into such detail that by the time she'd finished story telling they were at the door of her flat.
"Well he better not come down your chimney or he may see some things he doesn't want to see," Draco said with a smirk and a wink escaping into the flat before she could smack his arm.
