My Burning Flame
Life it seems to be the hardest thing for mankind, yet the easiest if we could learn to understand it. Well, I mean everyone gets hit by that stick, right? I guess some not as hard as others. Until recently, we didn't know of anything other than mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and other animals. But when 2011 came around, the world was in for a shock. There was another race among the human beings. They're mostly the same as any human, but there is another difference in the blood-work. An added gene, now commonly called the X-gene. It carries untold options of advances in the human anatomy and mind. Some get the chance to have children, some can regenerate themselves, and some can control the elements of nature as we speak. Now, some people embrace their newfound powers. Others take their lives, due to the belief of being alone. Some were murdered because of their power. The hatred because of difference in our world is so aghast. I've witnessed it firsthand, and am living it as well. My name is Roxas Darkly, I'm a 15 year old teenage boy. I'm also a mutant.
Turns out my father, Leon, was the carrier of the X-gene. It's been found that the gene is carried from the male side. He was a mutant and proud. My mother, on the other hand, is also a male. We call him mom, because his mutation allowed him to become pregnant as a female can. Cloud, my "mom", was dating Leon in high school at the time that his abilities kicked in. Dumb luck right? When mom got pregnant, Leon doubted it until he saw the stick. As a male in 2011, no one really knew that much about male pregnancy. I mean, people had heard about it… but there was a one in a million chance. So luckily, someone with common sense knew: if women could have a cesarean, then why not men? So that's how I was born, but to add to that wondrous moment he was carrying twins. Me and my twin brother, Sora. My dad was thrilled. His parents knew he was gay, but were sad when they realized they wouldn't have grandchildren. When they heard about Cloud, they were super excited. But on the other hand, Cloud's parents weren't. They thought that we were abominations to the world. So even when cloud was pregnant, they tried to kill him. His parents had messed with his dinner and tried to cut us out of him, thinking it would bring their family back together. Before the incident, Leon's body had taken on wolf-like traits. Not like a werewolf, but emotionally and physically, with heightened agility, speed, hearing, and smell. Cloud was his mate, and he sensed danger, so he literally busted through the door. He then went to defend mom, but he didn't do serious damage to them.. Not enough to put him in jail, but enough for them to get the picture. His parents eventually accepted Cloud into the family again.
So, when it came time for us to be born, mom had doubts about their relationship until Leon took it further. Surprisingly, the night before me and Sora were born, he took mom out on a date that had a nice view of the San Francisco Bridge. When Cloud wasn't looking, Leon pulled out a 5 karat diamond ring, which he had been saving up for when mom was 3 months pregnant with us. He gave birth to us, they got married, blah blah blah. Hey, as much as I love my parents, I feel as if I'm talking about them too much. Anyway, here's the start of MY story. The year I turned 15, everything took a turn for the worst, and I do mean the worst.
