Disclaimer: I can't be bothered to write an interesting one. Paramount owns all things Trek.

In answer to the JetC22 POV challenge.

I stand here at my post, watching as the two of them talk, voices low, heads bent together as if they already off in a world of their own. Everyone thinks I'm inexperienced, but I'm not really. Just because I'm younger than everyone else doesn't mean that I don't notice the way her eyes light up when he smiles at her, or the way he seems willing to do almost anything to provoke her smile into appearing.

Not that I blame him - that smile is so bright, it's dazzling.

And I notice the way they communicate with only one look, the way Libby and I could. I loved that about us - our ability to know exactly what the other one was thinking instantly. There was something exhilarating and thrilling about it that used to excite me every time it happened to us.

Do they feel it?

Do they feel the rush of excitement each time they touch each other? Do they feel the warmth of the other's smile? Do they feel a thrill at the mention of each other's names?

Can you imagine watching your parents falling in love?

That's how I feel as I watch. Not wanting to, unable to imagine it, but incapable of turning away from them either.

Can you imagine your parents kissing?

Me neither.

Can you imagine your parents having -?

NO! Ensign Harry Kim, get that image out of your head NOW!
