Disclaimer- Sadly, none of this belongs to me, its all Stephenie Meyers, I'm just a devoted fan.

I heard him before I saw him.

His footsteps down the drive...

Up the walk...

The turn of the doorknob...

But his face was the loudest.

I rose from my seat on the staircase.

"Edward..." I said.

"Give it a rest, Alice," He sighed, "I already know what your going to say."

"Then you know that I know what your planning... and you know that im not going through with it." I said definantly.

"Alice... do you know how much damage we've done?"

"Edward, we haven't done any damage-"

"Really?" He cut me off, "you don't call cutting a teenage girl off from the rest of the human world damage?"

"No, Edward, not in Bella's case." I was practically begging now," She needs us! She would be dead already if it wasnt for you."

"Alice, her life will be much safer without us... She'll be much happier."

"Even if she was happier, what about you?"

He took a minute to answer, "I'll be fine."

I was starting to grow angry, "Fine?" I asked, "Edward, you've been so happy, so much less of a downer, since Bella, 'Fine' isn't really going to cut it."

"Well, its going to have to."

A vision.

It was short... to the point.

"The others are on their way here now." I sighed.

Just as I said it they flew through the door.

Carlisle.

Esme.

Emmett.

Rosalie.

And Jasper.

My poor Jasper, he looked positively miserable.

Before Edward could get a word in I piped up, "Carlisle, Edwards about to make a terrible mistake-"

"Shut up, Alice," Edward snpped.

I looked at him, slightly taken aback. It'd been a while since he'd been like this.

"We have to leave here, Carlisle." He continued.

Carlisle sighed, "I was afraid you'd say that."

"Edward... no," Jasper said quietly, "This is my fault, don't do this."

"it's not your fault, Jasper," Edward responded, "It's mine, I shouldn't have-"

"Exposed her?" Rosalie sneered, "No, you shouldn't have. This isn't your fault, Jasper, this one's all Edward."

"Rosalie," Esme scolded, "Don't"

Rosalie glared at her, "What? I'm right, you all know it. She's human, she's not one of us, end of story."

"Rose," Emmett whispered, placing his hand on the small of her back, "Come on, you don't mean that."

"The hell I don't!"

"Stop!" Edward shouted, "I agree with Rosalie. I should have never done this... We have to leave, I have to give Bella a chance at life."

Complaints from Jasper, Esme, Emmett, and Myself filled the room.

"Silence." Carlisle said, quietly, we stopped tallking, "As much as I hate to say it... this is Edwards decision."

We all looked at him.

His face was cold, expressionless.

"Be ready to leave tonight, I'll meet you in Denali in a few days."

With that he turned and reached for the door.

"Edward?" I whispered, he stopped, but didnt turn around. "I want to say goodbye."

He stiffened, "Don't make this more painful than it has to be Alice."

And he was gone.
