The students at Hogwarts were just getting back to the flow of things after having returned from their Holiday break. Everyone was still excited and showing off new presents and still moping around because they were back at school. But someone new was coming to Hogwarts that was going to catch a few students attention with out a doubt.

It was just a normal day it seemed like to everyone, go to breakfast go to class go to lunch go to class go to dinner go study go to bed. The same routine they have been doing forever now. But something changed today. While everyone was eating dinner there was someone standing in the doorway of the great hall, someone no one had ever seen before. Only a few people noticed at first but then the hall became quite and turned to stare.

What were they staring at? A young lady, she had a classy look that was boarder line revealing, she teased you with a hint of cleavage. She teased you with a boarder line appropriate skirt and tall knee high boots that still showed off her long and toned legs. She had her school robes open and on top of it and you could tell she had money, not that she was throwing it your face. She had all the boys attention, that's probably why the hall had gotten so quiet.

"Is she a veela?" was a question running through some peoples mind

She had long brownish hair, with natural blond highlights that hung straight down yet with her angles curled in. Lovely brown eyes, not dull or too big either it was like you could see through her eyes and get lost in them.

She stood tall in the doorway and confident as if she was just waiting for her cue to come forward in front of the school and introduce herself.

That's when the cue came.

Dumbledore began to speak.

"Students I would like to introduce to you our new student Ms. Jalyssa Catalina Marie Castillo Cortez."

That's when she began to walk forward, she didn't walk with cockiness or intimidation either and she seemed pleased and comfortable with her surroundings. Which confused a lot of students considering most teenagers would be feeling extremely intimidated.

"She comes to us from America; her family had once lived here and now has returned to stay. She will be joining the rest of our 6 years and I'm sure that what ever house she is placed in the prefects will show her her way. Now let's sort you, shall we."

She nodded her head agreeing with him and sat down, sitting straight and tall and crossing one leg over the other. Dumbledore place the sorting hat over her head and began to speak.

"A Castillo Cortez, wow now it has been a while. There are only two houses that you would be best in Gryffindor and Slytherin but which one should it be. Your pureblood background and cunning abilities point one way and then your loyalties and bravery point the other. An attitude you have and green is the color you wear SLYTHERIN is the house for you."

The Slytherin tabled roared with applause and a smirk appeared on her face.

"Mr. Malfoy since you're the house prefect, would you mind showing Ms. Castillo Cortez around Slytherin domain after dinner please."

Draco nodded at Dumbledore and made a space for Jalyssa at the Slytherin table.

He could feel Pansy's jealousy the second Jalyssa walked into the room.

Problems were going to stir he could already see it coming.
