Beneath the Stars
It is exactly one year since their last meeting; Edward and Cedric walk hand-in-hand through the Forbidden Forest.
"Isn't the moon lovely this time of month" Edward begins, "I just love…" but what Edward loves is never uncovered, for at that moment Cedric pulls out the dagger he's been concealing behind his back and stabs Edward through the heart.
While the stabbing alone was not enough to kill the vampire, the shock and heartbreak of the action was enough to incapacitate him for long enough for Cedric to douse him in kerosene and lite him on fire.
Cedric walks away through the trees, the blaze raging on behind him.
"Goodbye, Edward"
