Childbirth

After two near-apocalyptic wars and countless life-risking quests, Percy though that he managed worry well.

As it turns out, no, he didn't managed worry very well.

Tapping his feet furiously against the floor of the childbirth waiting room, he prayed to Artemis, he even prayed to Hera to please let her -let them- be okay. He could feel too much liquid, most of it blood, in the room, and gods, it had been going on for five hours.

Annabeth was beside him on the couch, looking every bit as worried as him. She did try to ease him, though, because Sally is a strong woman, Percy. She will be just fine, you'll see.

Then, the nurse showed up.

"Sally Jackson's family?"

Percy was up in an instant. The nurse was about to say something more when Percy cut her in.

"Is she -are they- alright?"

Annabeth took notice of her boyfriend's wide eyes filled with worry… one day…

When the nurse said that yes, you can come in, he rushed in. Then, he saw her mother cradling The Little Thing in her arms, smiling so bright, Paul at her side with a look of utter love and his worries just fade away.
