It had been 2 years, 350 days.
She marked off every day on her calender.
Gone were the innocent genin days. Things were getting desperate.
Only 15 more days... would it be enough?
She thought of the words her master had said...To Kill Him if he fought back enough. They couldn't afford for Him to get ahold of him.
There wasn't enough time, she thought.
if only they had just a week more...seven more days would be
enough.
Seven had always been kind to her. But the years of
Team seven were over. The only time they had right now was for
action.
All her year mates had been assigned to the
mission. The three man cells raced in from different directions.
She
came in from the East. Where things began.
Heading West.
Where things ended.
The journey to Oto was cut down to a fraction of the normal time. Many of the ANBU had donated chakra so that the teams could get there quickly enough without being weakened.
She could handle fast and furious. But these past few years had been so slow. The days slipped through her fingers.
Each tick of the clock was one less to save him...
She got there first. And he was waiting. Waiting on a rocky crag, his katana already out.
And she could tell that he hadn't expected her. Or her bunshins.
The time whipped by, just as she liked it. The latecomers came, but they fell silent at the final battle.
And she knew. She knew that it had to be over. It was kill or be killed.
She killed. And when he lay there dying, she thought of that first true "meeting" with him.
How jealous the pig had been when she found out. How mad she had been when she found out that it wasn't who she thought it was.
It had never been a true person, just like that
almost-kiss had never been genuine either.
She knew that
now.
But despite the end of her girlish days, she knew that there was one thing she wanted before he died.
She kissed him. And just like 2 years and 350 days ago, he said "Sakura: Arrigato."
A/N I know, it sucks.
