It was a day like any other for Harry Hermione and Ron. "C'mon, were
gonna be late for supper!" screamed Ron to the other two.
As the three approached the table they noticed a stir in the atmosphere at Hogwarts. "Oh Joy..." sighed Ron. Hermione knew exactly why he had said that. "It's time for another lonely, no good, rotten, ridiculous, Yule Ball."Ron remarked.
Just then Ginny entered the room. Hermione made eye contact with her and they both began to emerge into fits of giggles. "Oy! Whats wrong with you two?" questioned Ron. "It's Hermione and Ginny, there bound to be something!" said Harry.
Professor Dumbledore stood up and called for silence. "Excuse me, but I have a few announcements. First of all, as many of you know, another Yule Ball is approaching. It will be held next week and those of you without dates will not be allowed to attend." Sudden silence now filled the hall. "We ALL have to have dates?!?!" said Harry. His mind suddenly wondered to Cho. Then something strange happened. He looked up and saw Ginny, and then he felt a jolt in his stomach, the same jolt he had gotten the year before when he had kissed Cho.
"That is all," said Dumbledore. And with that he dismissed them from the hall. Ginny, Harry, Ron, and Hermione went back up to the dormitories. As the girls left the boys they started to talk about the ball. "Is there anyone you would like to go with?" asked Ginny. Hermione stopped dead. "Actually....your brother....."
The boys walked up to they're dormitories thinking about the ball. "We are NOT and I repeat NOT going with the Patils again. I can't stand them!" said Harry. Suddenly his mind drifted off to Ginny. "So is there any one you would like to go with?" Ron asked. Harry came back to reality. "Yeah, actually......your sister...."
The next day they all went down to breakfast together. Ron sat starring at Hermione all through breakfast. "She's certainly more beautiful this year than she has been any other year." He thought to himself. Harry was thinking the same thing about Ginny. "Ron, come with me, I need to talk to you..." Hermione said. She beckoned to him and lead him into the entrance hall.
"Ron, there has been something I've been meaning to ask you..." she started. "You see, we've been friends and awfully long time....I mean we've had our "cat fights" so to speak but we've always been really "good" friends..." she stopped dead there. "I think I know what you're going to ask me," He said. "Well, Ron,.....umm....will you.........will you....willyougotatheballwithme?" she asked nervously. "Of course I will!" said Ron.
He offered her his arm, and they went back to the great hall. When they got back they were surprised to see Harry and Ginny sitting next to each other. "What 'appened to you two while we were gone," said Ron. "I asked Harry to the ball....and he said yes..." said Ginny. "Same thing just happened to me and Hermione!" said Ron. And with that they walked back to the entrance hall.
