Chat Noir was patrolling around Paris as usual. It was after midnight, nearly dawn, but not yet, and Chat couldn't sleep. It was just one of those nights, where your head won't stop running and your body can't take it. Chat knew an Akuma was unlikely to hit, it was just too early, but regardless he still went about his "patrol." Nearly everyone in Paris was asleep, the streets were empty and unlit, save for a few 24-hour shops and a few buildings. Chat Noir leaped building to building, checking out what was going on in the limited places that he could. He ran around, reaching a part of Paris he was all too familiar with. It was where he had set up a date for Ladybug, but she never came. Instead, him and Marinette had spent time here, basking in their loneliness together. Chat Noir thought about that night and Marinette, much more than any regular friend would. As he paced along the railed roof, Chat remembered that if he hopped over this wall, and went around the bend, he'd see Marinette's house. In his head, Chat weighed his options, he could aimlessly wander around the city till dawn, or maybe, he could visit Marinette as Chat Noir. Visiting Marinette seemed like the obvious choice. He decided to turn the bend, and almost miraculously, Marinette's balcony was still lit, and the girl herself sat there sketching lazily.
"Purr-incess! What's keeping you awake?" Marinette nearly shrieked, but looked up and saw it was just Chat. Her face eased.
"I'm... I just can't sleep. You?"
As nice as Marinette was, he didn't expect her to wonder how he was doing. "Um... Yeah, I can't sleep."
Marinette tiredly giggled, "I guess we're in the same boat then."
"Of course. Why can't you sleep?"
"It's just... school and stuff. I've been feeling really uninspired lately and I just can't sleep I guess. What about you?"
"When cats are nocturnal, so... let's worry about you." Chat Noir yawned. "Why don't we travel around the city, maybe you'll feel more inspired." Marinette opened her mouth to ask something. "Nope, we're going. Just hang on tight, okay?"
Chat Noir held Marinette close and she clung to him, then he took off. "Isn't this great?" he yelled over the wind.
"It is! I've never felt this... invigorated." Despite her own journeys across Paris, Marinette never realized that being with someone, even if it was Chat Noir, could change your whole perspective. Chat vaulted towards the Effiel Tower tightly hugging Marinette. He scaled up to the top resting and holding Marinette's torso to prevent her from falling. "This is crazy. I've never been this high before." While that wasn't exactly true, Marinette never had the chance to take it all in, and she was hit with inspiration.
"This is beautiful. I'm so glad that I can share this with you," said Chat. "Look at the stars, as the sun rises. They're shining so bright...like you."
"They're splendid." The pair sat in silence, watching the sunrise.
"I guess it's time to take you back home," said Chat Noir.
"Yeah... It's getting late, well not late but it's getting early. Actually I don't know if that can happen... You get what I mean," said an extremely flustered Marinette. Chat Noir laughed, grabbing her once again and brought her home.
As he stepped onto her balcony he dropped her off and whispered in her ear, "Goodnight, princess." Chat kissed Marinette's cheek, then ran away, leaving Marinette red faced and confused.
Author's Note-
This is obviously inspired by "A Whole New World" from Aladdin and I hope you enjoy this series! I'm not sure how many will actually be Disney themed, but it's whatever.
