Thor knew almost immediately that he have reached the wrong Midgard. While not the as wise in the ways of the branches of Iggdrasil- Loki was far more educated in that area-he still had a feel for the realm where his Jane was, and knew of the twinning branch paths, which he thought Stark called parallel universes.
He worried not for a way home, as he knew that his friends WILL find and bring him home.
He did however join the local heroes, and despite the disbelief the mortals showed initially to his saga (until he learned to keep his tongue), they did not protest this.
He hoped to chance himself in battle, to fell the mighty Endbringers that ruined so much, but they have yet to attack in the few weeks he was there.
While the initial task of dealing with villains was done to the satisfaction of his special PRT attaché. As he got one when they finally got that he was not from their earth, and was certain his friends will come, and help the people of this realm too- Thor was constantly moved around between differing troubled cities.
Until he was guided to a city called Brockton Bay- one that was recently savaged by one of the very monsters he longed to hunt!
When he went to the territory of the leader of the most powerful group of local Supervillains, he was struck speechless.
Rather than the den of Villainy and debauchery, or a position of power, it was a camp of wonderers.
People in old, worn clothing were around, working to rebuild a house, a girl was directing small children on errands nearby, and food was redistributed to women and families.
It was looking better than many other parts of the once city.
So deep in thought was he, that the buzzing of insects, heralding the arrival of his would be opponent, was missed.
The meeting with the Archfiend plaguing the city was unlike what Thor expected.
The barely feminine figure (and Fandral would surely comment about how it was the curse of lack of feminine that drove her to villainy - oh how he missed his shield-siblings the warriors three).
While he failed to convince her to renounce her ways, her argument of refusing due to the fails of the heroes and the kingdom to support the people rang true, especially with the refuge camp she has been patron of.
Thor had no intent to fight the child before him, and he knew her to be not woman yet. He needed no sight of guardian and keeper of the Bifrost to see that-the experienced Aesir sight of Asgardian warrior was enough to see this much.
The Skitter was a lost child, and there was no honor in fighting children. Especially those trying to restore a war torn place, petty defiance aside.
Thor was wondering why she seemed so familiar as he returned to the Head Quarter, as the people here called their Halls of Heroes. The displeasure for his nonaggression in the meeting showed that for all the cleverness of these mortal heroes, and the lords that commanded them, they failed to observe the youth of this Archvillain of Bugs.
Only after keeping his silence, and deciding to seek the parents of that girl, so that they may bring that lost girl back to the path of righteousness, did he finally realize who she reminded him of.
That girl, despite her looks made him think of his lost brother. She reminded him of Loki within a minute of their meeting.
As he went on to patrol the city, and hoped to see the string of the Norns that would lead him to the girl's father or brother, so that he may guide them to return her home, he wondered, if, maybe, after reuniting this family, after redeeming this villain, about another. His thoughts again wondering to his brother.
