Damn you Mako. Damn you for being such an idiot! Mako lay down in his bed, trying helplessly to get some sleep.

He had known Korra for a brief time and yet he somehow allowed that vain, smug, annoying girl get between he and his brother. Bolin says he'll be fine, but Mako knew he very hurt from the inside. Bolin and Mako rarely talked about how they feel, and even if they did talk, Mako doubted that he would be the person that Bollin would like to talk about his feelings for Korra. But he'll get over it. Somewhere on the inside Mako was glad that Korra didn't return her feelings for Bolin. That boy is too enthusiastic for her. She needs balance in her life. Someone mature, quiet, that is named Mako…

No! Mako thought as loudly as he could. Korra is not an option. Right now he should focus on the final match. Oh, and his girlfriend, Asami. That would be the smart thing to do. Besides, he and Korra agreed to be just friends. So there's no need to over-think it. Just pretend like that kiss never happened. Erase the memory of Korra's face close to him. Forget her blue eyes, fierce and soothing in the same time. And whatever you do, don't remember that feeling, when her lips gently pressed against yours. Mako closed his eyes, fighting his memories. Korra is a one of a kind girl. He would probably never meet another girl that even resembles her. A girl as great as her won't be by herself for a long time. She is easy to like. She is funny, smart, witty… and very pretty. She has the kind of beauty that takes time to appreciate. So if she likes someone… does this makes him worthy? Does her being all the above makes the guy she would like be a little more special?

Korra likes him. Though he suspected it before, now he knows for sure. But for how long? How long will it take her to her over him? After all she's the Avatar, one of a kind. And he's just a poor orphan boy. She'll find someone else. Someone richer, smarter, better.

So don't think about her. Don't. But he couldn't help but smile when he remembered that sensation that overwhelmed him when she kissed him. Asami kissed him too, but she was to elegant to kiss him like that. Within that one kiss Mako felt warm and cool, nervous and relax. He forgot every restrain the he had. He didn't want to be polite. He didn't want to do the right thing. He wanted to keep on kissing her. He wanted her.

Correction: He wants her.
