Hey everybody, Maddiek18 here! Guess what? It's my one year-anniversary of being on Fanfiction! I've decided to remake this story to celebrate!
See, I reread this awhile ago, and I realized...it's pretty bad. Yeah. So, with my improved writing skills, I'll fix some errors and try to smooth some things out.
So sit back and enjoy, The Secretary's Secret!
Chapter 1: Ambience
All was quiet through the halls of Castle Bleck. Count Bleck appeared to be the only one still awake. He made his rounds, checking on his minions before he went to sleep himself.
He came to Mr. L's door. Opening it, he saw the mustached man fast asleep on his chair, his head resting on the desk. The Count chuckled. "Working on Brobot blueprints again, L?" he thought aloud. Reaching over, he picked up Mr. L's cap, which had fallen on the floor. He placed it on the nightstand and shut the door.
"Goodnight, L."
Dimentio's room was next. Count Bleck saw that he had kicked his purple blanket onto the floor. He picked it up and covered the sleeping jester. He smiled and shut the door.
"Goodnight, Dimentio.
The Count went down the hallway to Mimi's room. However, he could barely open the door, so he just looked in from the hallway. He saw that the floor was littered with the shape-shifter's belongings, mostly clothing. The Count suppressed an undignified eye roll. "That girl..." he mused quietly and shut the door.
"Goodnight, Mimi."
Count Bleck continued to 'O Chunk's room. The burly Scotsman was snoring loudly, causing everything in the messy room to rattle slightly. The Count chuckled and shut the door.
"Goodnight, 'O Chunks."
Count Bleck sighed in contentment. He had one last room to check.
Nastasia's room was at the very end of the hallway. Count Bleck opened the door. Upon hearing the sound, Nastasia quickly laid down in her bed and shut her eyes. The Count smiled.
"Nastasia, Count Bleck sees that you're pretending to be asleep." he said gently. "Is something the matter?"
The secretary jumped up and grabbed her glasses from the nightstand. "Uh, s-sorry, Count." she apologized. "Yeah, everything's fine."
The Count looked at her for awhile. Of course he knew something was wrong when the usually composed secretary acted like this. "Alright, if you are sure." he said anyway and reluctantly turned to leave.
"Um, wait!" Nastasia called.
"Yes?"
"Uh, well...I um..." the secretary suddenly felt very small in front of the stern, yet kind gaze of her Count. "Um, Never mind, actually. Sorry for bothering you, Count." Nastasia apologized.
...
He shut the door.
And he was gone.
