Ella meets ALL the fairies

'Mandy!' shouted Ella from the top of the stairs. Mandy the cook appeared at the bottom of the stairs as Ella finished her sentence. 'Yes Mam,' she asked nervously, Ella only ever shouted for someone if something was desperately wrong. 'There's something wrong with little Ellie, it feels like magic,' Mandy almost flew up the stairs and into the nursery where Ella's newly born child lay crying in her cot.

Meanwhile, Char and his knights were heading home from the outskirts of Frell after a hard day of taming and then peacemaking with about 20 ogres. As Prince Char galloped into the palace grounds a maid greeted him with unfortunate news, his second child had fallen badly ill and no one knew what to do! He jumped off his still moving horse, told the maid to put the horse in it's stables and ran into the palace as fast as he could. As he crept through the nursery door panting, he saw immediately what was wrong. Ella, Mandy and almost all the palace healers were crouched round the baby's cot, some praying, some chanting others looking through their bags and Mandy holding the baby in her arms with her eyes closed trying to find out what wrong with the prince's only child. Ella was sitting cross-legged on the floor weeping into her shawl. He sat down beside her and slowly coaxed her into telling her more about what was going on.

It turned out that 'little Ellie' as she was called had fallen ill with something that could only be created by dark fairies and healed by them as well. The sickness would send her into a coma for about two weeks, when she woke up she would have no recollection of anything she knew before, be disabled and after about 3 weeks of gradually getting weaker, she would die.

Ellie catching this sickness would mean that all peacemaking and keeping event led by the royal family would be cancelled and everyone liable was to go on a quest to the furthest north, south, east and west they could get
at. All fairies lived in the four points of the compass and with the palace's
best knights and some of the royal family, including Mandy, set off in
search of the dark fairies that evening.
