Like Heck You Will!
A Non-Dramatic Merlin Fanfiction by Kitty O
Arthur nearly knocked down the door, which was unnecessary, considering it wasn't even locked. His face was set, but pained, as he marched into the room, his chainmail glittering in the light.
"I saw you," he accused.
Merlin looked up at him in surprise. "What?"
In a flash, Arthur's sword was out, the very tip of it brushing Merlin's collarbone. "You used magic."
"Really?"
Arthur looked sad, but forced the expression away as he glared at Merlin through blue eyes that held a world of hurt. "You are a sorcerer."
Merlin tried to laugh it off, but he knew the nervous tone of voice gave him away. "Me? Come, Arthur, don't be ridiculous…"
The blade moved up, catching on his skin, touching Merlin's Adam's apple as Arthur hissed, "Merlin, stop trying to lie, I saw it!"
Merlin froze, trying to see the blade and going cross-eyed.
"I thought you were my friend, Merlin, but I have no choice now. By using magic, you have broken the laws of Camelot. You are going to my father."
"But he kills anyone with magic!" gasped the warlock.
Arthur tried to ignore Merlin's plea, eyes narrowing as he forced the fierce expression to remain on his face. "I am going to arrest you."
"Like heck you will!"
This surprised Arthur; the blade dropped about an inch as he said, "What?"
"I said no! Arthur, look, I have a massive headache this morning; I just don't have time for you to be a prat. I'm sick and tired of saving you anyway!"
"Saving me…?"
"And put that thing down!" ordered the manservant.
"Merlin, you idiot, I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation…" started Arthur, bewildered.
Merlin responded by glaring at him. "Oh, forget this, you'll never get it, prat. Save yourself from now on; I quit!" He threw up his arm and shouted, "Ewch i ffwrdd!"
The sword flew out of Arthur's hand, clanging to the ground in the corner. Arthur stared at his empty hand, horrified, for a split second.
"Mynd i lawr!"
Arthur was thrown to the ground and pinned there by the magic, staring up at Merlin in amazement. Merlin spared him a glance and a cheeky wave. Enraged, Arthur struggled to get to his feet and found it impossible.
"Bye, Arthur. I'll see you around sometime. Please try not to die until then."
And then Merlin walked out of the room, leaving his cleaning cloth on the table. By the time to spell wore off, which allowed Arthur to rise and go look for him, he was gone.
Which meant Arthur didn't get to arrest him. For some reason, the prince wasn't dissappointed.
