Chernov lay there, wounded by the flamethrower. He lay dying. He waited for rescue. Markov and four of his men rushed into the Reichstag, Ignoring him entirely. A medic came by, saw chernov and thought he was dead. He rushed inside the Reichstag. It was then 7 men came by, slung their rifles over their shoulders and picked him up. "We have to get him out" said one of them. Chernov, as they carried him away, started to black out, but before he did, he saw two figures on the roof.
