This is the very first fanfiction I have ever written. Sorry this is gonna suck so please bear with me, especially that I don't have any talent in writing ^_^;

This is supposed to be a one shot fanfic but I decided to divide it into several parts because of lack of time for writing stories.

Reviews are welcome, but please be nice, ok? :) Thank you for reading!

Disclaimer: I do not own Rose of Versailles, I'm just an avid fan of Oscar and Andre ^.^

"Oscar! Come here! Check this out..."

A 7 year old girl with a pixie blond hair eyed her dark haired friend, who had his back on her. What the heck is he looking at, She wondered. She stopped wagging her sword and asked "What is it?" with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Can't you see I am practicing here? You should be sparring with me instead! That's what we're here for, You lazy bum! "

"Yeah, I'll practice sword fighting with you later, just look at this first" Andre tried to convince his precocious master turned friend.

"Alright" Oscar said with a sigh. This better be interesting she thought as she put her sword on the ground and approached her companion.

"Look, a mare giving birth! I found the animal as I was about to climb this apple tree"

"Apples again?! Can't you think of anything else than food?"

"Ah enough! Just check this out, will ya? Isn't it interesting? It's the first time I saw a horse being born!" Andre said as his eyes filled with wonder and amazement.

Finally Oscar looked at the thing her friend was preoccupied with. Her eyes went big and grimace appeared on her face. "Ewww how gross!" She bursted in disgust.

2 small legs covered in mucous membrane were dangling from the birth canal , while blood and slimy liquid dripped from the opening. The horse was giving off a howling sound as it tried to push her offspring out of her body.

"Poor horse, it seems to be in distress and in terrible pain"

"I can't look at it anymore!" Cried Oscar as she shut her eyes tight.

"I thought Oscar Francois de Jarjeyes fears nothing?!"

"Well... that's true! Nothing can ever scare me!" She suddenly remembered one of the most important things her father taught her. Never ever be afraid of anything that comes your way, or at least don't show it. Oscar forced herself to watch the horse.

"I heard women also experience the same thing when they give birth to babies..." Andre's voice trailed off. Oops, I think I shouldn't have said that. I don't wanna scare her or anything...

"Is that so?" Oscar asked ignorantly. Certainly, this kind of topic is not included in the military books her father makes her read everyday. "Come to think of it, my mother gave birth to 6 children, that must've felt horrible!" Chills run down her spine as she imagined what women have to go through during child birth. "Luckily, I was born a boy!" She felt extremely relieved.

Andre smacked his head. Why did I forget the fact that she thinks she's a boy?! And she really does believe it, doesn't she? He chuckled but didn't say a word. He knows better than to annoy her, as she gets pretty scary when she's mad.

"What's so funny?" Oscar was getting irritated.

"Umm, nothing!" He tried to bring his focus back to the animal.

She hates being left in the dark, and thus hate the answer "Nothing". That made Oscar hit her friend in the head lightly.

"Oww, what was that for?!" Andre wailed.

"Are you mocking me?" She glared at the source of her irritation.

"No, sir!" He caressed the aching bump on his head. How scary this girl is! Andre thought as he rolled his eyes. Who on earth would want to marry her?!
