Girls Can Too Play Soccer!
Once again, it was time for recess. And, once again, the boys had grouped together to play soccer.
"Alright!" Konohamaru shouted so that all the others could hear, "Hitomu and I are the team captains! Line up so we can choose people."
They picked their teams and were about to begin playing when a girl with shoulder-length black hair walked up.
"Hey," she began, "Can I join?"
All the boys turned to her and all wes quiet. Then, they all burst out laughing.
"A girl playing soccer!" Konohamaru laughed, "Oh, that's rich! Why don't you go over there and gossip with the other girls and let us finish our game."
"Why don't you say that to my face Scarf-boy!" She yelled angrily, her face contorted in fury.
"Gladly, Princess!" Konohamaru shouted back, "I said, girls can't play soccer!"
"Princess!" The girl growled, "Oh, I'll show you Princess. C'mon Scarfie! You and me, one on one. We'll see who's right!"
"Heh," the young boy smirked confidently, "Your funeral, Girlie. Udon! Get us a ball, wouldja?"
The grade schooler complied and the two competitors took their positions in front of the ball.
"First one to score a point wins?" Konohamaru said, smirk still in place.
The girl stole the ball first and dribbled it halfway down the field, only for Konohamaru to steal it from her. She recovered quickly, however, and stole it back. Konohamaru jumped in front of her just before she shot the ball into his net, but the girl was prepared. She grabbed the ball between her ankles and jumped over Konohamaru. She pulled her leg back and kicked. The ball was a blur as it shot into the net.
Konohamaru stared in wonder at the girl(as all the other boys on the field) as she cheered for her victory. Then, the girl turned to Konohamaru and stuck her tongue out at him.
"Ha! Take that Scarfie!" she yelled.
"Oi! My name ain't Scarfie, Princess!" he yelled back irritably.
"And my name ain't Princess, Scarfie! It's Karin, Karin Kurosaki." the girl, now Karin, said, jabbing her index finger into his chest.
"Konohamaru Sarutobi," Konohamaru introduced while sticking out his hand.
Karin raised an eyebrow at him, but shook it nonetheless, "Nice to meet ya, I guess."
Just then, the bell rang and the children were forced to run back to the giant concrete building that was their school.
"Hey," Karin said before Konohamaru could leave the field, "We should do this again tomorrow."
The boy looked at her quizzically for a few seconds, trying to comprehend what she'd just said, then a huge grin spread across his face, "Yeah, sounds good."
Karin smiled at him. Then she turned and ran into the school.
A/N: Hey guys! Don't really know how I came up with this one. Guess it was just a result of boredom and a strange obsession with writing cute moments. Dunno what's been up with me lately. I guess cute moments are my thing.*shrugs* Doesn't really matter.
Hope you guys liked it,
