(This is set during the GG4 when Zach is at Gallagher; for the sake for the story, Agent Townsend is still with them.)
I woke up early on a Saturday morning and decided not to sleep in, so I tiptoed past my roommates and down into the hall. After pulling on my Pumas, I set off at a steady jog around the school grounds. As I turned the corner, I felt myself run into something hard and looked up, right into the emerald eyes of a certain shirtless Goode.
" Hey, Gallagher girl, what brings you out on this fine morning?" with that annoying smirk of his.
" I was actually appreciating the view" I said and watched his smirk grow wider. Shoot! I blushed at the double meaning.
" C'mon, I'll run with you." We did a couple more laps talking about little things like our favorite bands and the haircut Mr. Smith was probably about to get. A bell rang and I realized we had been running for about an hour. There was no time to eat, so we both jogged to the P and E barn, our first class for the day.
I saw my friends' eyebrows rise and realized I was in for some major questioning later while I hurried to their side. "Where'd you go this morning?" 'How'd you run into him?" "What haven't you told us?" I tried to fend off their questions with a hasty "I'll tell you later!"
"Okay girls, and guy, I'm going to partner you guys up with people best matched to your skill level" Mr. Townsend announced. He went off pairing couples while I prayed I'd be with Bex. No such luck.
"Hmm, while I think you are very well matched with Ms. Baxter here, I'd like to split you guys up- Cammie, you're with Mr. Goode and Rebecca, you're with Mick."
I sighed and turned to face my smirking partner. Townsend announced that we were starting out with some free sparring. Great. In the 5 minute round we had, we twisted and lunged and fought with each other, trying to get the upper hand but failing. Huh, I guess we were pretty evenly matched. I zoned out then was brought back abruptly with a shout. I looked around and realized that everybody else's round had finished about 3 minutes ago. I blushed and looked down, to realize that I was sitting on Zach. " Sorry!" I said as I scrambled to get off of him.
The end of class bell rang and everyone ran out with their stuff, leaving me and Zach.
"Great fight, Gallagher girl" he said smirking "I let you win that one."
I snorted " If you won, it's only because I let you." He didn't have a comeback, so he let his smirk grow wider. Does that boy ever smile? He slung his arm around me and told me he was walking me to my next class. I decided to let him keep his arm there to make up for him losing. Yeah, that was the reason.
