Renesmee Cullen-Book 1

My mother, Bella Cullen, always told me I was special. But, I'm not. I'm just another mistake, someone, more specifically SOMETHING that wasn't supposed to happen. I don't fit anywhere. My best friend, Jacob Black, is a werewolf. I'm a half-human. I'm not a full-fledged vampire like my father, and the rest of my family. I'm also not human, like my grandparents. Sure, I have the benefit of being able to eat human food on a regular basis, however I have to also endure the fact that I'll always have to kill. That's always been a big problem with me, although I should think it isn't, seeing as vampires traditionally are known for drinking blood. Innocent lives have to die, to feed me? I guess that's how the chain goes. Big things, eat smaller things. Signed, Renesmee.

Renesmee Cullen closed her leather-bound book, and sighed. She heard her mother's voice, floating up to her boudoir upstairs.

"Renesmee? Honey, what are you doing? It's time to go to school!" Bella Cullen said, her voice directed upstairs.

"Mom, I'll be right there..." Renesmee sighed, and ran downstairs to where her mother was impatiently waiting.

Renesmee dreaded going to school. She hated the stares, the glares, and the whispered voices that she could hear, crystal clear. She heard the gentle whispers of the wind, as she ran at inhuman speed.

"Renesmee! You haven't even got your uniform on. And it's the first day of school!" Bella, exasperated, glanced at her daughter disapprovingly.

"Mom... Remember your first day? I think I've inherited my first-day jitters from you." Renesmee smiled, showing off her pearly white teeth.

Bella smiled. "Yes Renesmee, but that's also when I had my first encounter with your father."

Hearing his name, Edward stepped into their small kitchen, planting a kiss on Renesmee's mother. "Did I hear something about me?"

Renesmee smiled. Her mother and father shared something, a level of love beyond human knowledge.

"Edward! No, Renesmee," she gave a pointed look in Renesmee's direction, who glanced down, shyly. "Was just getting ready to go. It's her first day of high school today!"

"I see." Edward leaned down towards his daughter, brushed her golden locks out of the way and whispered, "You'll be fine. Just like your mother was."

With a forced smile, Renesmee then ran upstairs, got dressed and came back down. Hurriedly, Bella pushed Renesmee's lunch towards her, grabbed her hand then proceeded to herd her daughter out the door.

"Have fun, Renesmee. Remember, it won't be so bad." Edward winked at her daughter, then got into his black Porsche and drove away.
