This is a short and fluffy oneshot.
It was October.
The air was crisp with the fall air.
Harvest was good this year.
Tsunade announced a masqurade ball be held tonight.
Everyone was excited.
None more so than Naruto Uzumaki.
It was the first time he was invited to anything so grand.
He was given a red robe by Tsunade, to wear and he had a matching mask.
The night of the ball came.
Naruto walked into the ballroom.
He saw many fine clothes of thousands of beautiful colors. Masks of all sorts glittered benieth the lights.
He saw Sakura, dressed in a pretty red and pink ballgown. She wore a red mask around her green eyes.
Ino stood near her in a slightly excessive gown of purple and gold. A gold mask with purple feathers adorned her face.
Hinata was looking around shyly.
Her dress was long sleeved and was lavender and white. A simple white mask finished the outfit.
Sasuke was against the wall all in black, scowling as usual.
Naruto moved around the crowed. He looked up as another guest joined the room.
This one was in black and dark blue, and like Naruto, he wore a robe, rather than the western style everyone else had.
Naruto stared at him for a moment. Somthing was familiar about him but he couldn't place him.
He turned and walked through the crowd.
He neared the middle of the dance floor.
He felt somone tap his shoulder. Naruto looked around. It was the man he saw entering a few moments earlier.
"May I have this dance?" He asked with a deep, silky voice. He had a smile on his masked face.
Naruto blushed and took his hand.
"Uh, sure." Naruto and the masked stranger walked to the very middle of the floor and began to dance.
Everyone looked around at the two of them.
Naruto saw the stares and blushed.
"Everyone's staring at us."
The man looked at him.
"Really. I thought we were the only ones here." He said.
Naruto was still a little uncomfortable but as he looked deeper into this man's eyes he relaxed and began to enjoy himself.
After a while the man led Naruto to the balcony. Once there he grabbed Naruto and lept to the roof.
He pulled away from Naruto and took off his mask.
Naruto gasped.
"Itachi Uchiha!" He got into a fighting postition.
Itachi looked unconcerned. "I do not wish to fight you Naruto-kun."
Naruto frowned. "You really think I'm going to believe that when you tried to kidnap me?"
Itachi chuckled. "I have no desire to kidnap you. I came here tonight for a different reson."
Naruto raised an eyebrow. "What?"
Itachi pulled from his robe a small wrapped gift.
Naruto relaxed a bit and took the gift. He looked suspiciously at Itachi, who nodded.
Naruto opened the gift and gasped.
Inside was a snowglobe with a black, obsidion base.
Inside were two black obsidian figures:
A raven and a fox.
He saw that the raven sat on a small silver ledge. It had two tiny ruby eyes.
The fox was looking at the raven with two tiny sapphire eyes.
Naruto stared at it then looked up at Itachi, his blue eyes wide.
Itachi smiled and leaned in and kissed him.
Naruto was so surprised, he didn't object.
It was a miracle he didn't drop the gift.
Itachi pulled away and whispered in Naruto's ear.
"Happy birthday Naruto-kun."
Naruto stared at him in shock before smiling and stepping forward and hugging the Uchiha.
Itachi hugged Naruto back then lifted his face and kissed him again.
They pulled apart and Naruto and Itachi stared at the full, silver moon, that shone large and bright.
Naruto held up his snowglobe and admitted that this was the best birthday ever.
