Mrs Kotter had to stay late at the office to finish up some work. By the time she finished, the school was nearly deserted. She walked to the exit where her car was parked.
Two hoods hung out there, smoking. Seeing her, they confronted her.
"Hey, Carol, lookie here, that's Mrs Kotter!" one of them said.
"How ya doing?" Carl answered.
"I'm fine," she said, meekly. I'm just going to my car."
"She's going to her car!" the first boy said.
The two of them laughed evilly. Carl pulled out a switchblade.
"Before you go to your car, there's a little thing you've gotta do for us," said the first hood.
"Wh-what?"
"Take off your shoes."
"And socks!" added Carl.
She did this.
"You finish off that coke you was drinkin'?"
Carl responded by polling out a coke bottle from his coat pocket. He threw it on the floor, causing it to shatter.
"Now, walk in it!"
She looked at the glass shards. "Barefooted?"
They both laughed. "Barefooted!" said the first boy. "Then MAYBE, we'll let you go to your car!"
She slowly walked to where the glass was.
"Leave her alone!" a voice said.
Boom Boom, Juan, and Arnold were staring at them!
Carl tried to attack them with his switchblade. Arnold and Juan grabbed his arms, and Boom Boom punched him hard in the stomach, causing him to fall to the ground. Juan then picked up his switchblade. The three of them faced the other kid.
"Hey, we were just kidding!" he said.
"Well, we don't like the way you kid, Frankie!" said Boom Boom.
"Mrs Kotter's our friend; leave her alone!" Juan said.
"And the same goes for Mr Kotter!" said Arnold.
"OK!" said Frankie.
Carl got up. The two boys left.
"Thanks, guys!" said Mrs Kotter. She gave each of them hugs.
"Want us to walk you to your car?" asked Boom Boom.
"Yes, please."
They escorted her to her car. Meanwhile, Arnold picked up her shoes and socks. When they got to the car, he handed them to her.
"Thank you, Arnold."
"You're welcome, Mrs Kotter."
She put her shoes on and drove off, while the sweathogs watched her.
