A/N: Why do I always write angsty stuff? I feel this fits them more than Fall For You… Well… okay, that song would be what Ezio would say, and this would be for Leonardo. They each have their own songs! ^^ Song/Lyrics by Evanescence (WOOT!). And I apologize for the crappy ending… I couldn't figure out how to end it… ^^'
Forgive Me
It happened so fast. The artist felt his mouth open, his tongue move so fast, the shouting canceled out by silence. The look that appeared on the assassin's face killed him inside. The look of anger changed quickly to despair, then to confusion, and finally settled to pain.
The artist blinked, his hand reaching his mouth. "I…"
The assassin blinked, forcing the salt deposits down onto his cheeks. He gulped, unsure what to say.
The artist was also at a lost for words, the duo searching desperately for the words inside. When the silence drug on too long, the assassin stormed out of the workshop.
Leonardo stared at the door. He gasped for the air he had denied for too long, coughing. He looked outside. The sun was setting quickly, but the warning didn't stop the artist from running outside, searching for the broken assassin. He held back the urge to shout for him, knowing his name would tip off the guards nearby. He looked down in despair and sighed. His eyes widened when he saw wet footprints possessing a wide stride going in the direction the artist was looking. Only Ezio goes in the water… He followed the footprints until they dried, stopping and looking around. He saw recent splashes on the walls in the canal. He walked down to the jetty and looked under the nearby bridge. Someone sat in a gondola, and they glanced over at the artist.
"Ezio…"
The assassin blinked.
"There is a killer on the loose! Keep your family home! Keep on the lookout!" A nearby herald informed his crowd.
Leonardo felt a smirk coming to his face.
"What? What's so funny?"
"You take your anger out in the strangest of ways."
"Fottiti… What do you want?"
"I want to talk… please?"
Ezio pushed against the wall, pushing the gondola to the jetty. "Fine…"
Leonardo climbed into the boat and sat down across from the assassin. "Ezio, can you forgive me again? I don't know what I said…" Leonardo sighed. "But, I didn't mean to hurt you."
Ezio looked away. "If you didn't mean it, then why'd you fucking say it?"
"I felt the words coming out, I couldn't stop it Ezio… It happened too quickly. And the moment they came, I felt that I would die… You don't know how much it hurts me when I hurt you…"
Ezio looked at Leonardo. He looked broken as words did not come to.
"Ezio, I'd do anyting, I'd give ANYTHING, to kill those words for you… to take them back."
Ezio blinked slowly.
"I don't wanna lose you, Ezio!" Leonardo yelped. "I… I regret saying everything I said back there…"
"Leonardo… you won't ever lose me. I won't ever leave you." Ezio said after minutes of eternity.
"You… you were made for me, Ezio… We… we have those spats every now and again… but… y-you make me so... You make me happy." He paused, then took in a breath. "I… I can't remember what life was like before I met you, Ezio, and… I… I don't want to know. I can't go back to that…" Leonardo looked in the water, watching the ripples of the water.
The artist jumped slightly when he felt the assassin's hand take his chin. He gently turned the artist towards him, looking in to his eyes.
"I…"
"I know you're sorry…" Ezio smiled gently. "And I forgive you again."
Leonardo smiled, embracing Ezio. "Grazie…" He muttered into his chest, having knocked the assassin on to his back. He looked up at Ezio and kissed his lips.
Ezio's eyes widened, but responded accordingly. When Leonardo leaned up, Ezio roiled his brows.
"Oh, uh… I'm sorry…" Leonardo blushed, pulling away.
"No." Ezio grabbed him and pulled him close, locking lips.
