Mandy's ALS Challenge

August 21, 2014, Head Coach Mandy L'Orange was nominated to do the ALS Challenge

Location: Outside of the Pond

"Hey everyone. Mandy L'Orange, Head Coach of the Mighty Ducks here. I've been nominated by many teams, most on the east coast, my team, the CEO of the NHL and many of you fans to do the ALS Challenge. Thank you so much for your nominations and I'll be donating as well and I encourage those that I nominate do the same. As many of you know, California is experiencing a drought at this time so I froze two buckets of water and then thawed it out so it should be very cold by now. I haven't showered either and it's after my work out so this should cool me down a lot. So here we go..."

Nosedive and Wildwing have one bucket each ready to dump on their sister.

"You ready, sis?" Dive asked.

"Just do it already!" She snipped.

"Okay." Wildwing replied as he dumped his bucket of water on Mandy first.

A small shriek could be heard through her throat. Then the water that Dive had in his was dumped on Mandy next. This one was filled with both ice and very cold water. Another shriek could be heard from her, but in a high pitch.

"Geez that was friggin cold!" Mandy said, all wet. She folded her arms close to her stomach as a towel was given to her.

A minute or so later, back inside of the pond in her office. She's still wet with a towel around her neck wearing her soaked workout outfit.

"That last bucket was colder than the first one since it was filled with both ice and very cold water." Mandy said. "I'm going to go ahead and nominate those who haven't already done the challenge. If they want to to pour a bucket of ice over their heads and donate that'll be awesome. I encourage my nominations to do both since it's a great experience and it's a great cause."

She sighed.

"I nominate the Mighty Ducks manager Phil Palmfeather... yep, you're not getting out of this one! I nominate the entire west coast NHL teams too many to list and I also nominate our fans if you haven't already. Again it's a great cause and I encourage it. Be aware of water conservation and don't waste water. This is Mandy L'Orange signing off and have a great day."

A/N: I know that this is a couple years late and not the Ice Bucket Challenge season per say. I also did this challenge a couple years back and donated as well. The reason for the challenge is to spread awareness for those who suffer from ALS but understanding what they go thorough on a daily basis (the ice cold water). Many people suffer from ALS and it's not curable. Also many die from it as well. So I wanted to write this short fic on it. It's a great experience. Yes it's cold water but it was fun. Hopefully I'll have Part 13 of MDTAS Changes soon.
