I only remember ever being here once. That day, I think about a year ago, I was awestruck at the beauty of the tower, how it's lights shown in the night sky with boasting wonders. It was my fifth anniversary of being married to Zachary Goode and those years have never been better.

But now, as I stand among the mourning crowd with love and comfort, I see a new beauty in the now unlit Eiffel Tower. It shows pride, longing, and hope for a better future for its people. I can feel it telling us that France will not give up, that they will fight for victory against the terrorists who killed innocent lives.

And so will we. Macey, Liz, Bex, Zach, Grant, Jonas, and me. We will fight with our oldest allies and we will track down every person who murdered for no other reason but hatred and anger.

We will remember November 13, 2015 as a day when France had had enough and took the matters more personal than ever.

Pray for France. Pray for the families who mourn the tragic loss of their loved ones. Pray that we will fight against the Islamic State and wipe them from the face of this planet for good.

Paris, France will always be a beautiful place to me. With happy and sad memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
