This is dedicated to a friend of mine who says that Himura Kenshin is a "pansy" who "needs grammar lessons." I was thinking about what she said and decided to poke fun at Kenshin's odd syntax. So, for any of you who find Kenshin's grammar unnerving, you have been forwarned.
Thank you to my friend the fellow dragon for this inspiration. (For privacy's sake, I'll not mention my friend's name.)
Disclaimer: I do not own Rurouni Kenshin. I never have, and I never will. So if any of you dare sue me, you will pay. Dearly.
A Wanderer I Am~*~
I am a wanderer, that I am.
My past is filled with darkness, it is,
for I was once a
manslayer,
that I was.
But I vowed never to kill again, that I have.
I have vowed to atone for my sins by
protecting those I care for,
that I have.
I no longer carry a katana, that I don't,
but a sakabatou that only wounds, not kills.
But people say a
manslayer is a
manslayer for as long as he lives, that they do.
And, sadly, I've found that they are right, that they are.
There have been many times when my
past has come back to
haunt me, that there've been,
and I've found it hard to keep the
Battousaiunder control, that I have.
But as long as I have my friends, there's
hope, that there is.
For they are my family,
that they are.

Yes, I poked fun at Kenshin's syntax and still managed to keep this poem somewhat serious. (My goal was to make it sound as though Kenshin is narrating.)
I would love to hear your opinions, comments, even criticisms if you think I need to improve on something. So please review! It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
