"Annabeth?" Percy called across Long Island Sound. He had been trying to find Annabeth all afternoon. The fireworks were tonight, and he wanted to ask her to go with him. That was a big deal, and Percy had been trying to find the courage to ask her out all summer.
"Annabeth?" He called again.
No one answered. Percy was starting to worry. He had told Annabeth to meet him here at 1:00. It was 1:24, according to the watch Tyson had given him.
Percy walked back to his cabin and sat down on his bunk. He wished he had seen Annabeth. No, he didn't. He had no idea what to say to her. Suddenly, the fountain in the corner started to glow. Someone must be Iris-messaging him. He walked over and tossed a drachma into the water. Annabeth's smiling face appeared.
"Hi, Seaweed Brain!" She said.
