Astrid saw Elsa sitting at the table and gritted her teeth. She had to settle this now. She stalked up to Elsa and Elsa stood.

"Astrid. Good. We need to settle our...differences." Astrid nodded harshly. They stalked to the arena, a crowd following them. They reached it and Elsa took off her cape, shortening her ice dress to above her knees, and picking up a sword.

"Swords first." She said to Astrid, who nodded and discarded her ax, picking up a sword. They picked up shields and began the duel. Elsa walked sideways and Astrid swung her sword. Elsa lifted hers and met it with a ring, sweeping it sideways and clanging her blade against Astrid's. I am sorry to disappoint, but I am rotten at describing sword fights. Just a warning. After half an hour, Elsa twisted her wrist around and Astrid's sword fell out of her hand. Elsa stepped back, breathing slightly hard, and they went over to the weapon rack. Elsa picked up an ax as Astrid grabbed her own, and weighed it in her hand. Astrid smirked. Although dangerous with a sword, Elsa most likely wouldn't know how to fight with axes, at least not as well as Astrid. To her astonishment, she was equal. Indeed, slightly more, as she managed to captivate Astrid's ax. Astrid glared at her, then Elsa said, tossing the weapons away,

"I have a feeling this must be settled in hand to hand combat."

Outside, near the gateway, which was filled with people, Hiccup made his way through the thick crowd, and saw Elsa and Astrid going at it with axes. When he saw Elsa toss away the weapons and say what she said, he gasped and called, wriggling to the very front,

"Elsa! Astrid no wait!" Elsa jerked her gaze sideways and lifted her hand, causing an ice bolt to strike above the gate and made it fall. She returned her gaze to Astrid, and asked,

"Am I allowed to use my powers?" Astrid considered and nodded.

"Make it a challenge for me." Elsa nodded and then Astrid and she entered a fierce competition for Hiccup. This is where I cannot describe what passed, except that Elsa kicked Astrid's, well, you know. :-) Elsa stood and helped Astrid up. Astrid gazed at the floor as she said,

"I shall no longer encompass you. You have won, honorably. Thank you for fighting me." Elsa nodded and Astrid picked up her ax. She hesitated, then said quietly,

"I only really loved him for his position. I hope you love him for the real reason, unlike I did." Elsa nodded and Astrid left the ring. Elsa stayed in the ring alone, cleaning the mess they'd made, and the crowd quickly dispersed. After everyone was gone, she lifted the gate and slowly walked out, sighing as she reached the bridge reaching to the village.

"Hey." She heard a soft voice and turned in surprise. She saw Hiccup and smiled tiredly. She leaned on the rails and stared at the moon. Hiccup leaned against the railing as well and they were silent for a while.

"Why did you do it?" Hiccup asked, and Elsa sighed, her breath making a little cloud of cold in the warm spring air.

"I love you, and I had to prove it by winning against Astrid." Hiccup was quiet, then slid his hand over to Elsa's. Elsa looked down at it then looked at Hiccup, turning and resting her side against the rails. Hiccup slid his arm around her waist, and pulled her close.

"I'm glad you do. Because I love you too." He looked at Elsa's face for a second then kissed her. There they stood for a good while, their frames lit by the moonlight.

One of my first Hiccelsa oneshots! I have always felt like Elsa could always take on Astrid and beat her terribly, so taa daaaa! I hope you enjoyed it!
