Mission: Boing
Day 1
Louie's pov
"Yay! Knocking out walls! Bam!" Dewey imitates him knocking down a wall.
Why?
Because Uncle Donald signed us up to go help rebuild houses that were flooded.
"I don't wanna go. I'd get dirty, have to sleep on a half deflated blow up bed, eat horrible food, get annoyed by everyone, probably get sick from the horrible food, I wanna live it up!" I complain.
"Exactly why this will be good for you." Uncle Donald tells me.
I groan.
"Yeah Lou! We have a similar story where our house burnt down in the fire. It seemed hopeless. Until we got something better!" Dewey cheers.
"Why are you so energetic and cheerful? I wanna just go to bed." I whine.
"No time! You've known we've been signed up a while! You even won a giveaway for being signed up! Now let's go grab your bag and get down here!" Dewey drags me up stairs.
He stops in the middle of the stairs getting distracted by a crack in the stairs.
Major adhd moment.
"Hey Dewey, lets go have breakfast and then worry about that." I tell him plotting to sneak one of his pills in his food.
"Ok!" Dewey exclaims.
We go downstairs to eat and I pull Beakly aside.
"Did you sneak a pill in Dewey's food?" I ask her.
"Yes. Don't worry about that. I did." Beakly replies.
I give her a thumbs up and slide into a seat beside Huey.
Dewey has his arm around Webby whispering things to her and she is blushing and giggling.
It's disgusting.
"Eww! Really dudes?!" I gag, secretly enjoying the show.
"Well we could be worse. Be thankful for this!" Dewey complains.
"Yeah. I don't get to go to the Bounce mission project with you guys because it was a punishment for me." Webby frowns.
Lucky!
"In fact, I might actually want it to get worse before I miss you for a week, my love. Room 143 later?" Dewey whispers to Webby, but loudly.
I almost do gag but I hold it down.
I push away my food and leave the table.
I might wanna stay with my brother though for fear of what he might do.
After the day of laying in bed and doing random things to get ready for the trip, it's time to leave.
"Hey Dewey, you sure are flustered. What have you been up to all afternoon?" I nudge him.
"Uh..." Dewey blushes.
"Gross." I make a face.
"I'm going to miss you so much! Please be careful. Look after each other." Huey hugs both of us.
"And I heard some suspicious noises coming from from 143. I didn't check it out though cuz I didn't wanna be mentally scared for life." Huey whispers to me.
"I'm the baby. You can't trust me with anything." I smirk.
"Advantages!" Huey sings.
"You get to stay home! I don't wanna hear it!" I point out.
"I actually wanted to go. I would have earned some great badges!" Huey huffs.
"Whatever. I'm actually kinda excited. Dewey and I are gonna say 'boing' the whole time when we get there!" I throw my arm around Dewey.
He gives a thumbs up and beams.
"Let's go!" I exclaim.
"Uh oh." Dewey gasp.
"What?" I stop walking towards the door.
"I forgot q-tips. Let me go get them! I also forgot my charger." He admits.
Dewey runs up stairs for a few minutes and slides down the banister after those minutes.
"Now I'm ready!" He smiles.
"Bye guys!" We chorus.
They wave and say random stuff.
Uncle Donald is here and will be with us all week.
He's driving us.
We get in the car and just wait for a bit.
After the boring car ride, we get out at the church where we will be staying.
I get out my HUGE bag that has a built in clothes rack that pops up.
It's like the best bag ever.
Dewey just has smaller bags.
Multiple ones though.
We walk inside and check in.
I snuck my iPad in, so I really hope bag check isn't good!
"Hello Louie! Wow. I'm gonna need to do this bag on the floor!" Mr. Kris exclaims.
He opens in and moves one tiny thing then shuts it.
"You know, your dad is here, so if you have anything suspicious, we will send you to him." He tells me.
Not my dad, but not that's not bad!
Rhymes, lol.
I drag my bag away as Dewey has to check his.
I'm gonna take the elevator.
"Where are you going?" Some dude asks.
"To the elevator. Do you see this bag?" I laugh.
"You can't use them. There's signs and everything. Stairs!" They point to the stairs.
"Aww man." I sigh.
It takes me like 10-20 minutes to pull my bag up the stairs.
I'm in a sweat afterwards.
I walk into my room and see that there is like no space.
Unluckily, 7th grade has to room with 6th grade.
"No! I can't sleep without my sound maker!" Manny shouts.
Ugh.
He's in here.
I place my stuff against the wall that Mr. Seth cleared for Dewey and I.
He comes in.
"Boing boing boing!" He bounces.
I join and we laugh.
"This is gonna be the best! I'm in blue ping-pong team and Alex's E-team group. What about you?" I ask.
"Urine colored tennis. Bleh! We have the same E-team though. What's that even mean?" Dewey throws his name tag down which is attached to his neck and slaps in his face.
I smirk.
"That's the time after worship that we talk with our grade. Unluckily, they separated by gender also." I stick my tongue out.
Dewey nods.
We blow up our bed, then start chilling.
"Wanna listen to music and watch videos?" Dewey offers.
I accept and we share an earphone set.
We laugh and sing until dinner.
"Let's listen to music on our way to dinner!" I exclaim.
Dewey agrees.
We walk down the stairs connected by earphones.
When we get to dinner, we sit at a table with Mr. Seth, he's like our dad, and jam out to some music.
Mr. Seth videos us, and surprisingly, Dewey doesn't participate.
Manny decides to sit with us during welcoming and I share a look of annoyance with Dewey.
Dewey squeezes my shoulder re-assuringly and then moves rows.
Ray, Mr. Seth's son, takes his place.
"What's up Ray?!" I greet him.
"Just some boing! I'm so excited for my first Bounce trip!" Ray exclaims.
He then gasps and points to my notebook.
"Yeah. I brought our notes! They are so ridiculous!" I laugh.
Ray laughs also.
Ray and Manny fool around all worship and I'll admit, I did a little too.
At the end of worship I am called to meet with my team.
I get to be on Mr. Jeff's team!
He let us nap and go to Sonic after worship last year!
After I sign up to be the team's evangelism reporter, I depart from the group to get trained.
The person tells us we mark a tally mark under each category that happens a day.
Like if we prayed before working, that would get a tally under spiritual conversation for that day.
I will also write a report for each tally to be the best evangelism reporter.
I then leave to find Ray.
I see him and greet him with a handshake.
"Here's the shower plan. The shower trailers last year were horrible. There's a shower up by where the baptism pool thing is. We use that." I smirk.
"Ooh! That's a great idea!" Ray cheers.
"So let's shower tonight. I leave my notebook here so we have an excuse to come back." I wave my notebook in the air.
"And..." Ray urges.
"When everyone is out of the sanctuary, we do an act on me losing my journal and say we are going down to find it and..." I use a run-on sentence.
"Ooh! Awesome! What then?!" Ray jumps up and down.
"I was getting there. When we get down here, we sneak up. If someone comes in the sanctuary, we just tell them we were looking for my journal. Backup plan is if someone finds my journal, we have our names in it so it's ok." I gesture to my notebook again.
"Awesome!" Ray smiles.
We head up to the room and wait a bit.
After a while, I start talking about the notes I took.
I look for my notebook and don't see it obviously.
"Hey, I think I left my notebook at worship!" I frown.
"Oh no! Let's go look and see if we can find it. That's important." Ray agrees.
We walk out of the room and start down the stairs.
Dewey stops us.
"Where are you guys going?" He asks.
"We are going to the showers in the baptism area. Don't tell anyone!" I exclaim.
"Why would you want showers? It's just the first night and we haven't even worked today!" Dewey wrinkled his nose.
"Eww! You wouldn't? Gross!" I stick my tongue out.
"Suit yourselves." Dewey shrugs.
Ray and I sneak downstairs and into the sanctuary.
"I can't do this." He exclaims.
"Yes you can! We have backup plans and everything! We can't fail!" I tell him.
We go inside and up to the showers.
"Oh no. It looks like the people who run Bounce shower here. There's lots of shower stuff here. We can either risk it, or leave and shower at the trailers tomorrow." I list.
"Let's go." Ray decides.
We sneak back down and into the bare hallway outside the sanctuary.
"Let's go up to the balcony! It will be fun." I persuade.
"No! It's roped off!" Ray points out.
"Yeah, but people go up here to listen to sermons all the time! Come on!" I climb over the rope and start up the stairs.
"No. Let's go back. Why don't we explore the church later when everyone is sleeping?" Ray suggests.
"That's a great idea!" I agree.
We then go up and finish our night routine and blah blah blah.
We lay down a bit and get on Ray's phone.
Ray has this game where you try and make the bike go over bumps and loops and stuff without dying.
I miserably failed and it was so funny.
"It's time." I tell him.
We sneak out together and see someone sleeping in the hall.
"Let's go downstairs. If someone catches us, we say we went to the downstairs bathroom because ours was too crowded." I explain.
Ray nods and we step out to explore.
"Aww man. The preschool area is locked. Sanctuary?" I ask.
"No! Not this late at night!" Ray argues.
I roll my eyes and nod.
"Let's go back to our room." Ray suggests.
"No. Let's go to the 3rd floor! There's this letter thing where we write letters and put it in people's folders. Let's write silly stuff! I love getting silly letters." I smile.
"That's a great idea! Let's hope no one is up there." Ray crosses his fingers.
We walk to the 3rd floor which I hate doing, and get to the door to enter it.
"I'll scout. If we get caught this time, say I had a phone call from someone who never really calls and I needed to call back but I didn't want to disturb anyone. You came along because it's night, scary, and safer." I list.
Ray nods and I open the door.
"Vacant. Let's go!" I exclaim.
We walk over to the room with the letters and start writing.
"How do you write spam mail?" Ray asks me while finishing writing something.
"Depends on the person. I normally literally write the word, 'spam'. It's funny." I smirk.
"It is! Let's write it! No one will know who's handwriting!" Ray says.
We write a whole bunch and laugh.
"I'm gonna put like 50 spams in Sam's folder! She will die laughing." I laugh myself.
As I'm doing that, we hear a door open.
"Pretend to be on your phone!" I whisper.
I do that and Ray is frozen.
A flashlight turns on.
"Run. They are in the other room. Let's go." I run to the stairs.
Ray follows a few seconds after and we dash back to our floor.
"That was crazy!" I sigh.
"For sure. I don't wanna go back to bed though." Ray frowns.
"Don't worry. We can write notes and put them in the room folders on this floor! They aren't going to exact people, but they are going to the rooms!" I suggest.
"Ok. Where do we find paper though?" Ray looks around.
"The janitor's closet. Duh." I roll my eyes.
I walk over the the janitor's closet and open it with ease.
"I thought it would be locked. Let's go. There's someone out here." I point out.
We step in the janitor's closet and close the door.
"Wow. This place is awesome! Let's write notes now!" Ray exclaims.
"I'm gonna write the janitor a note thanking him for all he does first. Then we can be stupid." I smirk.
Ray nods and I do so.
After that, we go around delivering notes saying 'spam' and 'blame it on Nolan -3b 3rd grade vbs class'.
"Why blame it on Nolan?" Ray asks.
"It was a silly thing from when I volunteered at vbs in the 3rd grade room. Don't mind it." I shrug.
"Nolan is on my team." Ray frowns.
"Uh oh. Good luck with that!" I laugh.
We then rush into the bathroom due to seeing someone come out of their room.
When the coast is clear, we start playing music quietly in the bathroom.
We are hiding in the big bathroom stale.
"If someone comes in and asks who we are, we need to have names." I state.
"I'm Kyle from Cross Creek church. Who are you from Cross Creek church? I picked Cross Creek cuz that's the only church other than ours I remember is here." Ray explains.
"I'm John." I say.
I doodle some notes about my crush that I wish was here and Ray notices.
"Really Lou? Laney again? I feel like you two have something special." Ray teases.
"I don't know. She's at her mom's house and doesn't have her phone. She's kinda in a bad state. I'm not really supposed to say though." I shrug.
"Oh. I'll pray about that." Ray says.
Of course he will.
I then write a note that says, 'this is a potty' and I place it inside the toilet.
Ray looks up from his phone and looks inside the toilet.
We burst out laughing and laugh for a while until we hear someone.
Ray turns off and I stop writing another note that is for a different toilet.
"You need to go to sleep. People have to get up at 6:00 and you are being very disturbing." We hear.
They then walk away and Ray and I stay quiet for about 5 minutes.
"Imma put these notes in these other toilets. Let's not go in the girls' bathroom they opened for us though. Only this tonight." I tell him.
He stays in the stale as I move around placing the notes inside the toilets.
I come back and see a sign on the inside of the bathroom door.
I flip it over and write, 'you are using the bathroom' on it.
Then I write 'trashes' and put it sticking out of the trashcan.
"This is hilarious. I think we should try and get to bed though. We have to go to the worksite tomorrow. If we don't fall asleep, let's get up at the devil's hour, 45 minutes from now, and go down to the sanctuary." I smirk.
"Not the devil's hour! Let's go to sleep though." Ray finally agrees.
We go back to our beds and lay down.
Dewey is laying on our shared bed and he awakes.
"Where were you? We weren't made to share a full sized blow-up bed so you can get up and down all night." Dewey complains.
"Sorry Dewey." I pout.
"Did you get sick?" Dewey sits up.
"No." I stop to laugh.
"You'll see in the morning." I smirk.
I remember also making a mess at the coffee and sink station.
We put a creamer cup over the sink nozzle and poured the contents of it all over the place.
We even poured a creamer in the janitor's mop bucket.
"Whatever Lou Lou. Just get some rest." He sighs placing his arm around me.
I will definitely rest.
Rest knowing I have done crazy funny things!
I can't wait to see people's reactions in the morning.
A/N
Hey! Sorry it took me a bit to get back on here and post a story! I was at Bounce and that's where I got this story idea! Louie is based off of me. Like what I did at Bounce. Obviously some things are different and I had to change real life people's names. I also changed the gender because Louie is representing me. This is a multi-chapter story. It goes through every day at Bounce. So much happened that I just let it turn into a story. Please review! Thanks!
