"Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a bird? Well, I have. Pretty often actually." She giggled.
"I used to spend hours just lying there watchin' 'em fly around when I was little; imaginin' what it would be like to join 'em up there. Flyin' around with nary a care in the world, feelin' the cool, crisp air waft all around me."
"That's why I wanted to fly. If only to get a taste of that freedom." She grinned. "'Cause when you're up there, you're free from all the bullshit down 'ere. You're free. Granted you'll have a big meanie shoutin' at you over the radio, but not much you can do about that, huh?" She chuckled.
Her head dropped slightly. The sadness can be seen in her eyes, but the smile didn't leave her face. "I miss that…. Ever since this 'appened I've been pretty much grounded." She tapped the metal over the ever glowing chest-piece she had on. "Y'know, it's always the stupidest things that throws you down. Sometimes they're things you can't even control. I have this." She shrugged. "That purple lady with the rifle? She's not even the same person I knew back before they took her and turned her into… this. And there's not a bleedin' thing she could have done about it."
Her face actually showed some anger. "Heck, even things that shouldn't matter. Where you're from. What you are. Even who you bleedin' love!" She spread her arms out, raising her eyebrows as if confused. "Down 'ere you could be judged for anythin'. You could be a floatin' Omnic monk." She snickered. "Or a talkin' gorilla. And most people won't even give ya' a chance!"
She pushed herself up off the grass. "Sometimes I wish I could just take off and fly away from it all, like those sparrows up there." She looked up towards the sky. "But then, if we all just run and fly away. Who's left to try and fix things? Sure the world is messed up. But if nobody's willin' to give it a chance and work on it, it's always gonna' be messed up, innit?."
She slid her goggles over her face and adjusted it to make sure it sits comfortably. "I know there are good people out there, no matter who or what they are. Heck, me best mate's that talkin' gorilla I mentioned! And he's the most brilliant scientist I know!" She laughed. "So as tempting as it is to just fly away and forget about it all, I won't give up or run away." She turned around and placed her hands on her hips with a massive grin on her face. "Because the world could always use more heroes!""
